Bay City WAVES veteran honored with museum display aboard USS Edson

BAY CITY, Mich. — A Bay City woman who served in the U.S. Navy’s WAVES program during World War II is being honored with a new exhibit aboard the USS Edson at the Saginaw Valley Naval Ship Museum. The uniform of Dolores Demo Maillette — now on display inside the retired destroyer docked on the Saginaw River — is the first woman’s uniform to be represented on the ship.
