(Connersville, IN) -- Connersville police responded to a burglary in progress in the 200 block of West 19th Street just after 8:30 Thursday morning. According to a press release, the department said the suspect fled on foot toward Connersville Middle School and allegedly pointed what appeared to be a firearm at an officer during the chase. The officer fired his weapon, and a K-9 unit later apprehended the suspect.

(UNION COUNTY, IN) - Fire crews battled a massive barn fire Tuesday afternoon on E Kitchel Road in Union County, with flames visible as far away as Richmond. Multiple departments responded with mutual aid, including four tankers, and remained on scene for about six hours. Liberty Fire Chief Jim Franklin says the fire started as a man tried to jump-start a truck inside the barn using a tractor. The structure, used for equipment and hay storage, was a total loss. No injuries were reported.

RICHMOND, Ind. — A Richmond man was taken into custody Tuesday following a standoff involving the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and the Richmond Police Department’s SWAT team. According to authorities, Josh Farmer was wanted on several outstanding warrants when deputies attempted to make contact with him at a residence on 11th Street around 10:30 a.m. After Farmer failed to respond, the SWAT team was activated.
