Here is the news: There will be fireworks on the Fourth of July. There will be fireworks on the lake on Thursday, July 3, at Nathan Benderson Park. There will be fireworks on Friday, July 4, on Siesta Key public beach. And there will be fireworks on Friday, July 4, in downtown Sarasota. No fireworks on Longboat Key (Maybe the St. Regis will step up next year?). However, there will be a great parade at 9 a.m. Friday, July 4, at Bicentennial Park (see box). Let’s just say: Whew.
