Population-level impact of doxycycline post-exposure prophylaxis on bacterial sexually transmitted infections
Abstract Bacterial sexually transmitted infections (STIs) continue to increase in many high-income settings, disproportionately affecting gay and bisexual men (GBM). Doxycycline post-exposure prophylaxis (doxyPEP) is a highly efficacious strategy for preventing syphilis and chlamydia; however, its population-level impact following national implementation remains uncertain.
SPAC 4.1: Plenty of SPACs, Plenty of Targets — So Who Is Paying for the Deal?
A year ago, we argued that SPACs had entered a fourth, more disciplined era: experienced sponsors, longer search periods, promotes tied to performance, and targets with real revenue.[1] Twelve months on, that thesis has held. This article discusses where the bottleneck would move. In 2021 the scarce resource was a credible target. In 2026, it is committed cash at closing. There are plenty of SPACs and plenty of companies that want to use them.
The dangerous spread of measles stops with us
The U.S. now has more recorded cases of measles — a highly contagious but vaccine-preventable disease — than any time in the past 35 years. Over the past two years, the infection has impacted undervaccinated communities across our country. National data show that measles has re-established itself after the U.S. declared the infection eliminated in 2000. Although this is a notable public health setback, there are several actions we can take to protect one another in King County and Washington state.
How Treasure AI Built an AI Center of Excellence
Two years ago, Treasure AI set out to be deliberate about AI from the start. We formed a cross-functional AI committee, drafted our first AI policy, and mapped departmental use cases so adoption fit each function rather than being imposed on it. We built an AI champions program to carry that thinking into every team, not just IT. That foundation was real, and every tool in use had cleared review on its own merits. What we didn't have was a shared view across them.
Mechanisms, management and prevention of anorectal sexually transmitted infections
Abstract Anorectal bacterial sexually transmitted infections, predominantly chlamydia, gonorrhoea and syphilis, represent a substantial and evolving global health challenge, with incidence rising despite widespread testing availability. In this Review, we examine the epidemiology and burden of anorectal sexually transmitted infections, explore the pathogenic mechanisms underlying infection and discuss advances in diagnosis, screening and prevention strategies.

Local, State, and National Efforts That Support Influenza Surveillance—From the Ground Up
Every year, seasonal influenza sweeps through our communities causing absenteeism, clinic visits, health complications, hospitalizations, and death. In the US, upticks of influenza activity are anticipated in the fall and generally continue through the winter. Although those of us in temperate climates face an annual seasonal spike in activity, the start, duration, and severity of the season remain difficult to predict.
D-SPIN constructs regulatory network models from scRNA-seq that reveal organizing principles of perturbation response
|
Results Accurate simulation of cell states requires complete knowledge of regulatory interactions between genes, yet a core challenge is to uncover conditional gene dependencies that are masked under normal conditions. These hidden interactions do not affect the network states under wild-type conditions, resulting in the problem of alternative or indistinguishable models.

Investigating Motor Coordination Using BXD Recombinant Inbred Mice to Model the Genetic Underpinnings of Developmental Coordination Disorder
1 Introduction The fundamental skills for motor coordination and motor control largely emerge through development, from infancy to late childhood to adulthood [1]. When this developmental progression is perturbed as a result of genetic mutations and/or altered brain development, neurodevelopmental disorders can emerge [1]. Neurodevelopmental disorders can cause atypical cognitive functioning, intellectual impairment, and/or motor developmental delays [1].

Significant Recent Decisions Relevant To Private Company M&A
Rejecting the argument in a motion to dismiss that a covenant not to sue for breach of fiduciary duties in a stockholder agreement that applied to drag-along transactions was facially invalid, the Delaware Court of Chancery held that such covenants can be legitimate forms of "fiduciary tailoring" and provided fact-specific test for determining their validity.
