1 INTRODUCTION A long-standing critique of place-based crime prevention interventions, not to mention of environmental and situational crime prevention (SCP) measures more broadly, has been that reductions in crime generated by these interventions are often short-lived (Clarke, 1995, 2001; Eck, 2006; Eck & Guerette, 2014). In practical terms, this short timeframe often translates to 12, 18, or maybe 24 months after the project or program has been implemented.
