Pasco paraeducator fired, criminal investigation underway

PASCO, Wash. - The Pasco School District notified parents Thursday a paraeducator had been fired after reports of "inappropriate contact" between them and a student. According to information from the Pasco School District, administrators at Ray Reynolds Middle School received "reports" about the contact and called the Pasco Police Department. The school district said the paraeducator, who was called a substitute, is no longer an employee.

Police investigating death of 1-year-old found in Richland backyard

RICHLAND, Wash. - The Richland Police Department is investigating after a baby was found dead in the backyard of their home. Officers and first responders were called to a home in the 2300 block of Camden Street on June 9 around 10:30 a.m. When they arrived, officers found an 18-month-old unresponsive. Despite working to revive the child, the baby was pronounced dead a short time later.

Sunnyside teen arrested at high school graduation in connection to May shooting

SUNNYSIDE, Wash. - A Sunnyside teen was arrested Friday night while attending the high school's graduation. According to information from the Sunnyside Police Department, Ojore Ayala-Garcia, 18, was spotted in the crowd after a call to police about a suspicious person at the high school. When officers arrived, they said Ayala-Garcia saw them and took off running through the crowd. Officers said he knocked down several people in his effort to get away and some people suffered minor injuries.
