A review of data-driven deep learning models for solar and wind energy forecasting
Introduction Solar and wind are prominent renewable energy sources (RES) because of their excellent potential and easy availability [1]. However, these are highly dependent on environmental factors such as solar irradiance, wind speed, temperature, etc. [2,3]. Due to weather uncertainty, there will always be fluctuations in the power output of these sources. Thus, the accurate prediction of their output is crucial to grid reliability and stability.

Regulated charge transfer by cascade dual Z-scheme heterojunction of HCdS@ZnIn2S4-Cobalt porphyrin for efficient photocatalytic solar fuel production
The artificial photocatalytic system can convert CO2 and H2O into high-value-added syngas, which is one of the greenways to solve the greenhouse effect and energy shortage [1]. Typically, the conventional methods of producing syngas are conducted under demanding conditions using non-renewable resources [2], [3]. Fortunately, PCR can generate syngas more environmentally friendly under mild conditions with less energy consumption [4].
Tumor-targeting and activatable biomimetic nanococktails synergistically regulate immune responses for spatiotemporal immunotherapy of low immunogenic solid tumors
Immunotherapy that harnesses the host immune systems to attack diseases has become an important modality for cancer treatment [1]. However, the intrinsic low immunogenicity in the TME has limited the effects of immunotherapy [2], and only a low rate of tumors can benefit from cancer immunotherapy, e.g., only 1–10 % of TNBC exhibited therapeutic responses to immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) [3]. Because TNBC is a type of cold solid tumor with low immunogenicity [4], [5].

Gruel creep feeding accelerates growth, alters intestinal health
The weaning period is one of the most stressful periods in a piglet's life due to abrupt changes in diet and environment. To mitigate production loss, creep feed is given to piglets to supplement the sow's milk, but the intake of typical dry creep feed is low. Alternatively, liquid diets presented as a gruel may have increased positive effects post-weaning.

Repeating fast radio burst 20201124A originates from a magnetar/Be star binary - Nature Communications
Abstract Fast radio bursts (FRBs) are cosmic sources emitting millisecond-duration radio bursts. Although several hundreds FRBs have been discovered, their physical nature and central engine remain unclear. The variations of Faraday rotation measure and dispersion measure, due to local environment, are crucial clues to understanding their physical nature. The recent observations on the rotation measure of FRB 20201124A show a significant variation on a day time scale.
A fast radio burst source at a complex magnetized site in a barred galaxy - Nature
Abstract Fast radio bursts (FRBs) are highly dispersed, millisecond-duration radio bursts1,2,3. Recent observations of a Galactic FRB4,5,6,7,8 suggest that at least some FRBs originate from magnetars, but the origin of cosmological FRBs is still not settled. Here we report the detection of 1,863 bursts in 82 h over 54 days from the repeating source FRB 20201124A (ref. 9).

Using graphene conductors to enhance the functionality of atom chips
Abstract We show that the performance and functionality of atom chips can be transformed by using graphene-based van der Waals heterostructures to overcome present limitations on the lifetime of the trapped atom cloud and on its proximity to the chip surface. Our analysis involves Green's-function calculations of the thermal (Johnson) noise and Casimir-Polder atom-surface attraction produced by the atom chip.
High-brightness LWIR quantum cascade lasers
Abstract Long-wave infrared (LWIR, $\lambda \approx {8} - {12}\;\unicode{x00B5}{\rm m}$) quantum cascade lasers (QCLs) are drawing increasing interest, as they provide the possibility of long-distance transmission of light through the atmosphere owing to the reduced water absorption. However, their development has been lagging behind the shorter wavelength QCLs due to much bigger technological challenges.

Microplastics’ Hidden Contribution to Snow Melting
Black carbon particles, produced by combustion of gasoline, diesel fuel, coal, and other organics, have been found to be the second-largest driver of climate warming, after carbon dioxide (CO2), since the Industrial Revolution [Myhre et al., 2013]. Much of black carbon’s role in this warming results from the fact that it contributes to the melting of snow and ice and thus to darkening of Earth’s surface, reducing the amount of sunlight the planet reflects and increasing the amount it absorbs.
The efficacy and safety of bisphosphonate analogs for treatment of osteoporosis after spinal cord injury: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
Abstract Summary Bisphosphonates can inhibit osteoclast-mediated bone resorption, prevent bone loss, and reduce the risk of osteoporotic fractures. Our meta-analysis of studies shows that early bisphosphonate administration after SCI was safe and beneficial to the BMD of the total hip and lumbar spine at 12 months. Introduction Rapid bone loss in the early stages of spinal cord injury (SCI) leads to an increased risk of osteoporotic fracture.

Molecular transport through capillaries made with atomic-scale precision
Nanometre-scale pores and capillaries have long been studied because of their importance in many natural phenomena and their use in numerous applications1. A more recent development is the ability to fabricate artificial capillaries with nanometre dimensions, which has enabled new research on molecular transport and led to the emergence of nanofluidics2,3,4. But surface roughness in particular makes it challenging to produce capillaries with precisely controlled dimensions at this spatial scale.
Severe disruption and disorganization of dermal collagen fibrils in early striae gravidarum
Stretch marks affect 50‐90% of pregnant women and can cause emotional distress. Stretch marks initially appear reddish, and mature over months to years, becoming permanent white streaks with a depressed, scar‐like appearance. As little is known about how stretch marks develop, this study, from the University of Michigan in the US, aimed to examine the molecular changes occurring in early stretch marks, with the reasoning that findings may explain the appearance of mature stretch marks.

Size effect in ion transport through angstrom-scale slits
Transport of an ion is usually directly related to its hydrated radius and assumed to be nonflexible. Either a hydrated ion fits through an aperture or it does not, and shape should play a dominant role rather than charge. Esfandiar et al. created nanofluidic devices by stacking structured bulk materials, including graphite, boron nitride, and molybdenum disulfide. They investigated the transport of ions in aqueous solutions through the nanochannels in the devices.
Low-dimensional materials-based field-effect transistors

Power Allocation for Target Detection in Radar Networks Based on Low Probability of Intercept: A Cooperative Game Theoretical Strategy
Distributed radar network systems have been shown to have many unique features. Due to their advantage of signal and spatial diversities, radar networks are attractive for target detection. In practice, the netted radars in radar networks are supposed to maximize their transmit power to achieve better detection performance, which may be in contradiction with low probability of intercept (LPI).
Modified Cramér-Rao Lower Bounds for Joint Position and Velocity Estimation of a Rician Target in OFDM-Based Passive Radar Networks

Hormone and Metabolic Research / Abstract
Recent studies have shown that glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD), the rate-limiting enzyme for the pentose phosphate pathway, was involved in insulin resistance via reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate, while the roles of pentose were not examined. In the present study, the association of G6PD, pentose, and pentosidine with insulin resistance was investigated in diet-induced obesity of rats.
