Research on a production plan-driven multi-objective inventory-to-sales ratio optimization model for cigarettes
Abstract The cigarette industry faces persistent conflicts between rigid production quotas and volatile market demand, often resulting in suboptimal inventory structures and frequent stockouts or overstocking. To address this, we propose a production plan-driven multi-objective optimization model that explicitly integrates the inventory-to-sales ratio (ISR) as a feasibility constraint rather than an objective.
Coal dust-stimulated macrophage-derived extracellular vesicles promote thyroid cancer cell phenotypes involving miR-205-5p, CAMK1G, and NF-κB-associated signaling
Abstract Background: Occupational coal dust exposure causes persistent pulmonary inflammation, but the mechanisms by which it may influence thyroid cancer progression remain unclear. Macrophage-derived extracellular vesicles (EVs) may participate in intercellular communication under particulate stress.
Isoform inflation and annotation heterogeneity can confound Kunitz-repertoire comparisons in blood-feeding animals: a gene-level reappraisal
Abstract Hematophagy has arisen independently many times across Metazoa, and recurrent anticoagulant protein families in blood-feeders are often read as convergent recruitment - the Kunitz/BPTI domain a paradigm case, with the leech an oft-cited low-Kunitz exception. We re-examine this at the gene level and ask whether a confirmatory cross-phylum test of this blood-feeding/anticoagulant association is feasible with public genomes.
A telomere-to-telomere genome of Mojiang purple rice resolves a rare three-copy structural allele upstream of Kala4/OsB2
Abstract Background: Black and purple pericarp in rice requires activation of the basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) regulator Kala4/OsB2, and the known black-rice allele is a complex promoter rearrangement. Such repeat-embedded alleles can be difficult to resolve in fragmented assemblies, and for many pigmented landraces it remains unclear whether they carry that allele or structurally different ones.

Effect of liposome rigidity on corona formation and its implications for uptake by cells
Abstract Nanoparticle rigidity influences cellular uptake and in vivo behavior, yet the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Here we used lipids with identical head groups but different acyl chains to prepare liposomes with comparable surface composition, size and zeta potential, but distinct mechanical properties. Rigid liposomes showed much higher uptake than soft ones, mediated by distinct endocytic mechanisms.

Abstract INTRODUCTION RESULTS DISCUSSION MATERIALS AND METHODS Acknowledgments Supplementary Materials REFERENCES Information & Authors Metrics & Citations View Options References Figures Tables Media Share Abstract Compact, lightweight, and energy-efficient cold-atom systems are foundational for the development of deployable quantum technologies, yet their realization remains largely constrained due to reliance on bulky optical and magnetic components.
Diagnostic value of cerebrospinal fluid antisuprabasin antibody in neuropsychiatric systemic lupus erythematosus
Diagnosing neuropsychiatric SLE (NPSLE) remains challenging because neuropsychiatric symptoms in SLE may reflect immune- mediated central nervous system (CNS) involvement, CNS infection, vascular disease, metabolic disturbance or other competing aetiologies.
Lactiplantibacillus plantarum PD01 from high excretion donor functions as a natural defense against microplastic toxicity
Abstract Microplastics (MPs) present in a wide range of foods are a food safety concern due to their potential toxicity, yet effective approaches to enhance MPs clearance in the body remain lacking. Here, we first connected MPs excretion capacity to gut microbiota composition through a cross-sectional study of 138 individuals. Differential abundance and genomic variation of Lactiplantibacillus plantarum were observed between low- and high-excretion individuals. With this insight, we isolated L.
A Multimodal Machine Learning Model for Framingham Risk Score–Based Cardiovascular Risk Stratification in Patients With Obstructive Sleep Apnea
1 Introduction Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a highly prevalent sleep disorder characterized by recurrent upper-airway collapse during sleep, leading to intermittent hypoxia, sleep fragmentation, and excessive daytime sleepiness. It affects hundreds of millions of people worldwide (Iannella et al. 2025).
Joint trajectories of frailty and depressive symptoms and risk of incident osteoarthritis in middle-aged and older adults
Abstract Background: Frailty frequently overlaps with depressive symptoms among middle-aged and older adults. However, it remains unclear how these two conditions develop concurrently over time and whether their combined longitudinal patterns are associated with the subsequent onset of osteoarthritis (OA). This study aimed to characterize the joint trajectories of frailty and depressive symptoms and to evaluate their prospective association with incident OA.
A cracking-assisted transfer printing technology for high-resolution quantum dot light-emitting diode displays
Abstract Inorganic colloidal quantum dot light-emitting diodes could be used to build next-generation electroluminescent displays due to their colour properties and electrical stability. However, to create high-resolution and large-area displays, a pixel integration method is required, which can deposit quantum dot arrays on an active-matrix backplane and maintain uniformity and precision, without colour cross-contamination.
Mesoscale ordered assembly of Er 3+ -doped quantum dots enables efficient 1.55 µm electroluminescence
Abstract Efficient, electrically driven 1.55 µm light sources are highly desirable for telecom-band emission, on-chip optical sensing, and integrated near-infrared photonics, yet their realization remains a grand challenge.
An artificial neuromorphic interface for auditory restoration
Abstract Sensorineural hearing loss affects ∼3% of the global population yet lacks feasible solutions. We present a neuromorphic interface capable of hybridizing with mammalian afferent nerves to reconstruct the auditory pathway. A self-powered acoustic device serves as the auditory receptor, while a star-shaped reconfigurable artificial neural circuit enables attention concentration via lateral inhibition logic.
Combined allogeneic osteochondral mosaicplasty and high tibial osteotomy for severe talus osteochondral lesions (Hepple Type V): clinical efficacy, inflammatory response and prognostic factors
Abstract Background Hepple Type V osteochondral lesions of the talus (OLT) are challenging. This study compared the clinical efficacy and inflammatory response of allogeneic osteochondral mosaicplasty (AOM) combined with high tibial osteotomy (HTO) versus AOM alone for OLT and identified prognostic factors.
A generalist biomedical vision-language model via multi-CLIP knowledge distillation
Abstract Contrastive Language-Image Pretraining (CLIP) models, which are pretrained on natural images with billions of image-text pairs, exhibit strong zero-shot and cross-modal capabilities. However, their application in biomedicine remains challenging due to limited large-scale image-text data and heterogeneous imaging modalities. Here we show that a generalist biomedical foundation model can be effectively built via multimodal medical knowledge distillation.

Ion agent mitigates efficiency roll-off in near-infrared electroluminescence for practical bioimaging and information encryption
Abstract Perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) are promising emitters for next-generation light-emitting diodes (LEDs), yet PQD-based near-infrared (NIR) LEDs still suffer from low external quantum efficiencies (EQEs) and severe efficiency roll-off. This limitation arises from the trade-off between enhancing carrier transport with conductive ligands and preserving PQD surface integrity during ligand exchange.

This study enrolled 46 patients with PHPT from two centers between July 2019 and January 2024. The primary end point was clinical success, defined as the achievement of normal levels of both intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH) and serum calcium at 6 months post-MWA (40/46).
Climate benefits of lake nutrient management in China
Abstract Anthropogenic nutrient discharges drive lake eutrophication and can consequently enhance greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, amplifying climate change. Managing nutrient levels can substantially reduce GHG emissions from lakes, yet the climate benefits and the cost-effectiveness of managing diverse nutrient sources remain insufficiently quantified.
Hydro-geomorphological drivers across scales shape the trajectory of coastal wetland restoration
Abstract Coastal wetlands provide essential ecosystem services but continue to decline globally, driving demand for effective restoration. Managed realignment, which relocates sea defenses landward to reinstate tidal exchange, is a key nature-based solution for creating self-sustaining wetlands. However, unpredictable restoration outcomes highlight the need for a framework to understand the underlying physical drivers and prioritize sites.
Engineering of genetically encoded programmable calcium channel inhibitory binders
Abstract Store-operated Ca2+ release-activated Ca2+ (CRAC) channels, composed of STIM and ORAI, are essential for immune and developmental processes, and their dysregulation underlies channelopathies such as Stormorken syndrome. Here, we report the engineering of genetically encoded CRAC channel inhibitory binders (CRABs) derived from the ORAI C-terminal tail.

Ultra-Low Efficiency Roll-Off High Color Purity Blue Perovskite Quantum Dot LEDs with Exceeding 20% Efficiency
Abstract Blue perovskite quantum dot light-emitting diodes (QLEDs) are highly attractive for new generation high-definition displays, but their practical deployment is hindered by severe efficiency roll-off at high brightness (>4000 cd m−²) while maintaining high color purity (CIEy < 0.1). This roll-off arises mainly from non-radiative losses induced by exposed dangling bonds, strong inter-dot coupling, and low permittivity.
