Updated / Sunday, 1 Feb 2026 17:08 Former Senator George Mitchell said on multiple occasions that he had no contact with Epstein following his conviction (File image) The US-Ireland Alliance has removed the name of Former Senator George Mitchell from their scholarship programme due to his links with the late disgraced financier and convicted child sexual abuser Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein was first arrested in 2006 and convicted in 2008 of soliciting a minor.

Did Israel target journalists killed in Gaza this week?

Twenty people were killed, including five journalists, by Israeli strikes on Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis in Gaza this week. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called it a "tragic mishap" and the Israeli Defence Forces said it was not targeting the journalists. However, this claim has been strongly disputed by people on the ground. RTÉ News takes a look at just what happened during Monday's attack.
