Association of altered plasma long-chain fatty acids with migraine-related disability: a clinical cross-sectional study
Abstract Objective: The relationship between migraine and lipid metabolism, as well as its underlying mechanisms, remains poorly defined. In lipid metabolism, long-chain fatty acids (LCFAs) play a role in regulating cellular energy homeostasis and inflammation. Emerging evidence suggests a link between LCFAs and migraine pathophysiology. We investigated the association between altered plasma LCFAs and migraine-related disability.
Investigating the impacts of urban agglomeration spatial structures on carbon emissions based on spatial networks of cities
Abstract Quantifying the relationships between urban agglomeration spatial structures and carbon emissions yields insights for developing sustainable, low-carbon urban agglomerations. Previous studies characterizing urban agglomeration spatial structures usually rely solely on the attribution data of individual cities, but overlook inter-city linkages, i.e., the interactions between cities within urban agglomerations.
L-Phenylalanine is a metabolic checkpoint of human Th2 cells

Keywords CD4+T cell immunometabolism phenylalanine allergy Th2 cells regulatory T cells metabolomics single-cell energy metabolism amino acid asthma Introduction Upon activation, naive CD4+T cells clonally expand and differentiate into several specialized effector (Teff) subsets, including T helper (Th) 1, Th2, and Th17, depending on the nature of antigen challenge and cues from the microenvironment.1 Regulatory CD4+CD25+T (Treg) cells arise either from thymus or from peripheral conversion of...

Solid tumor immunotherapy using NKG2D-based adaptor CAR T cells
|
Keywords chimeric antigen receptor NKG2D Dap10 Dap12 adaptor Introduction NKG2D is expressed by natural killer (NK) cells, CD8+ αβ T cells, γδ T cells, invariant NKT cells, and some CD4+ T cell subsets.1 It mediates the recognition of cells that express any of the eight NKG2D ligands (NKG2DLs), namely MHC class I polypeptide-related sequence (MIC)A/B and UL16-binding protein (ULBP)1–6.

B cell immune response to human bocaviruses
IL-10+ B cells and Breg cell populations increase after HBoV1-VLPs and RV stimulation. HBoV1-VLPs are actively uptaken by CD19+ B cells. The expression of Breg-related and IL-10 signalling genes rises following the stimulation with HBoV1. 1 INTRODUCTION Human bocaviruses (HBoVs) are small single-stranded DNA viruses that are members of the Parvoviridae family.
The Role and Regulation of the NKG2D/NKG2D Ligand System in Cancer
Abstract : Simple Summary The immune system provides surveillance measures to identify and remove damaged cell types at an early stage. One important example involves the NKG2D receptor, which is expressed on a range of white blood cells. In humans, NKG2D binds to a family of eight proteins known as NKG2D ligands. NKG2D ligands are generally absent from the surfaces of healthy cells.
Disrupted epithelial permeability as a predictor of severe COVID‐19 development
Bacterial DNA levels correlate with pro-inflammatory biomarkers and clinical and laboratory parameters Given that severe COVID-19 cases presented elevated serum levels of bacterial DNA, CRP, LDH, ferritin, and reduced lymphocyte and eosinophil numbers, we identified the serum proteins associated with these differences across all and severe COVID-19 cases (Figure 4). In all COVID-19 cases, serum bacterial DNA levels were significantly associated with AREG.
Lactation-associated macrophages exist in murine mammary tissue and human milk - Nature Immunology
Abstract Macrophages are involved in immune defense, organogenesis and tissue homeostasis. Macrophages contribute to the different phases of mammary gland remodeling during development, pregnancy and involution postlactation. Less is known about the dynamics of mammary gland macrophages in the lactation stage. Here, we describe a macrophage population present during lactation in mice.

Rhinovirus-induced epithelial RIG-I inflammasome suppresses antiviral immunity and promotes inflammation in asthma and COVID-19 - Nature Communications
Abstract Rhinoviruses and allergens, such as house dust mite are major agents responsible for asthma exacerbations. The influence of pre-existing airway inflammation on the infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is largely unknown.
Incidence rate and risk factors of status epilepticus after stroke
Highlights • The crude overall rate of SE after stroke was 6.90 per 1000 strokes. • African American race, alcohol abuse and renal disease are associated with an increased risk of PSSE. • The proportion of patients with hypertension and diabetes was higher in patients without PSSE than in patients with PSSE.
Experimental rhinovirus infection induces an antiviral response in circulating B cells which is dysregulated in patients with asthma

Loss of regulatory capacity in Treg cells following rhinovirus infection
Background Respiratory infections with rhinoviruses (RV) are strongly associated with development and exacerbations of asthma, and they pose an additional health risk for subjects with allergy. Objective How RV infections and chronic allergic diseases are linked and what role RV plays in the breaking of tolerance in regulatory T (Treg) cells is unknown. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the effects of RV on Treg cells.
