EUGENE, Ore. — Waldport couple, Sherry and George Koskela were visiting to do some shopping in Eugene when they decided to have dinner at the Olive Garden, but George didn't make it through the double doors into the restaurant as he suffered from cardiac arrest. Two Olive Garden employees came running to help him and started CPR.

“Shop with a Cop” returns to mark the upcoming school year. Sisters in Law, a local charitable law enforcement officer spousal support group, has been putting together the Shop with a Cop for School Supplies event here in Lane County since 2013. The annual event had over 40 law enforcement officers pair up with kids in need to shop for school supplies' at the Springfield Target. This year demand was high, the event saw close to 50 kids, almost double the amount from last years event.
