Epilepsy domain adapted large language models enhance epileptogenic zone prediction from seizure semiology
Abstract Seizure semiology provides clinically meaningful clues for localizing the epileptogenic zone (EZ) in drug-resistant focal epilepsy, but its interpretation varies across clinicians and institutions. We aimed to develop and externally validate a domain-adapted large language model for EZ localization from narrative seizure descriptions.
MSTDualNet: multi-scale state-space dual-branch network for electroencephalography-based motor imagery decoding
Abstract Deep learning has substantially advanced electroencephalography (EEG)-based motor imagery (MI) decoding. However, existing MI-EEG decoding models insufficiently capture temporal dynamics at multiple resolutions, which are important for EEG signals containing transient event-related desynchronization/synchronization (ERD/ERS) changes and sustained rhythmic modulations.
Reversible Transformation between 0D Cluster and 1D Chain with Luminescence and Dielectric Dual Switching in Two New Decanuclear Copper(I) Iodide Halides Click to copy article link Article link copied!
Abstract Click to copy section linkSection link copied! Low-dimensional emissive Cu(I) halides have garnered extensive attention owing to their structural diversity and unique, structure-dependent photophysical properties. Nevertheless, achieving structural transitions with switchable physical properties remains a formidable challenge for high-nuclearity Cu(I) halides, and reported zero-dimensional (0D) to one-dimensional (1D) structural dimensionality transformations are extremely scarce.

Operando insights on stable Cu 2+ active sites for efficient electrochemical CO 2 -to-C 2 H 4 conversion
Abstract Copper catalysts feature unique superiorities for the electrochemical conversion of CO2 to C2+ fuels and chemicals. Their surface oxidation states dominantly determine the reaction pathways to various products. However, most Cu-based catalysts inevitably undergo electroreduction from Cu2+ to Cu1+ or Cu0 species during the electrochemical CO2 reduction.
Microscopic Two-Phase Flow Characteristics under Mixed Wetting Conditions of Shale Based on Pore Network Modeling
Abstract Click to copy section linkSection link copied! Shale oil reservoirs are primarily characterized by the presence of organic matter (OM), which is embedded within an inorganic matrix and exhibits differences in wettability and pore size compared to inorganic matter (IOM). The coexistence of water-wet inorganic pores and oil-wet organic pores results in a mixed wettability condition that complicates the transport behavior of oil and water.
Large‐Scale Evaluation of Beach Morphodynamic Evolution and Environmental Drivers Along China's Eastern Coast Through Long‐Term Landsat Analysis
1 Introduction Beaches are geomorphic units formed along the coastline by the accumulation of wave-deposited sediments, typically composed of sandy or coarser sediments, often based on bedrock geology, and shaped by wave action, exhibiting a high degree of dynamism in both time and space, responding more significantly to environmental influences (Manzolli et al., 2020). Beaches not only serve important ecological functions but also play a pivotal role in the socio-economic sphere.

Flexible pressure sensors are crucial components for various applications, including human motion detection, health monitoring, human–machine interaction, and electronic skin etc [1], [2], [3], [4], [5]. These sensors are designed to measure physiological parameters such as intraoperative pressure, pulse, breathing rate, and touch-based communication [6], [7], [8], [9], [10]. For such applications, pressure sensors need to have high sensitivity and a wide sensing range.

Brain activation during the N-back working memory task in individuals with spinal cord injury: a functional near-infrared spectroscopy study
Abstract Cognitive impairments have frequently been reported in individuals with spinal cord injury (SCI) across different domains such as working memory, attention, and executive function. The mechanism of cognitive impairment after SCI is not well understood due to the heterogeneity of SCI sample populations, and may possibly be due to factors such as cardiovascular dysfunction, concomitant traumatic brain injury (TBI), hypoxia, sleep disorders, and body temperature dysregulation.
Mapping Compound Flooding Risks for Urban Resilience in Coastal Zones: A Comprehensive Methodological Review
1. Introduction Flooding, a major global natural disaster [ 1 ], annually affects a vast population, especially in coastal regions that are vulnerable to combined climatic and human-induced hazards [ 2 , 3 ]. Notably, 80% of flood-related fatalities occur within 100 km of coasts [ 4 ]. Climate change intensifies typhoons, storm surges, and heavy rains [ 5 ], increasing flood risks.

Pore Scale Characterization of Gas-Water Flow in Heterogeneous Layered Sandstone
The existence of beddings and abundant interlayers in sandstone reservoirs severely hinders the exploration and extraction of sandstone gas reservoir resources. In this study, layered heterogeneous sandstone cores were constructed to explore the impact of sandstone layered heterogeneity on gas–water flow, and the gas–water displacement process was imaged by using X-ray tomography. The changes in the fluid distribution were studied with the help of imaging data.

Differential expression of PSMC4, SKP1, and HSPA8 in Parkinson’s disease: insights from a Mexican mestizo population
1 Introduction Parkinson’s disease (PD) stands as a multifaceted neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the progressive degeneration of dopaminergic neurons. Nevertheless, the intricate mechanisms underlying this condition remain shrouded in uncertainty. Emerging evidence has spotlighted dysregulation in the clearance and degradation of alpha-synuclein as a pivotal player in the pathogenesis of neuronal demise in PD (Mehra et al., 2019; Jankovic and Tan, 2020).

Digital Rock Analysis on the Influence of Coarse Micro-Fractures on Petrophysical Properties in Tight Sandstone Reservoirs
Abstract : Tight sandstone reservoirs, as typical unconventional reservoirs, have attracted more and more attention worldwide. Compared to conventional reservoirs, the complex microscopic pore structures and micro-fractures of the tight reservoirs are developed, and fluid flow in the tight sandstone reservoir is very complicated.
A method for pore-scale simulation of single-phase shale oil flow based on three-dimensional digital cores with hybrid mineral phases
No Access Physics of Fluids 34, 062010 (2022); https://doi.org/10.1063/5.0095965 The mineral properties of the pore walls have a great influence on the single-phase shale oil flow at the pore scale. In this paper, a new method is proposed for pore-scale simulation of single-phase shale oil flow based on digital cores with hybrid mineral phases. This method can identify each mineral pore wall and correspondingly consider the adsorption layer and slippage boundary condition.

The role of stress in controlling infrared radiation during coal and rock failures
During coal failure under loading, variations in infrared radiation (IR) characteristics can be observed in response to stress drops. To explore the quantitative relation between the stress and IR characteristics, a new quantitative failure indicator called the variance of successive minus infrared image temperature (VSMIT) has been developed to study IR characteristics during the uniaxial compression loading.
