BDKRB2 upregulation by dystrophic microglia drives pain hypersensitivity in aged mice
Abstract Although pain sensitization is among the most common conditions affecting the elderly, its underlying neural mechanisms remain unclear. Here, we found that mechanical hypersensitivity arises from enhanced glutamatergic excitability in primary somatosensory cortex due to bradykinin receptor B2 (BDKRB2) upregulation by dystrophic microglia during aging.
Effects of maternal exposure to an adsorbed acellular diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis (reduced-dose) combined vaccine on prenatal and postnatal development in Sprague-Dawley rats: a preclinical study
Abstract Introduction: The resurgence of pertussis poses a severe threat to infants under 3 months of age due to an inherent early-life “immunity gap.” While maternal immunization with the tetanus, diphtheria, and acellular pertussis (Tdap/Tdacp) vaccine effectively mitigates this risk globally, no such vaccine is currently licensed for maternal use in China.
Preclinical study on an adsorbed acellular diphtheria- tetanus-pertussis (reduced-dose) combined vaccine: evaluation of reproductive safety and immunogenicity
Abstract Introduction: The diphtheria, tetanus, and acellular pertussis combined vaccine (DTaP) is a trivalent formulation containing acellular pertussis antigens, diphtheria toxoid, and tetanus toxoid, and provides simultaneous protection against pertussis, diphtheria, and tetanus.
Tumor-derived DNA drives cancer-associated anemia by promoting reticulocyte clearance
Abstract Anemia is one of the most prevalent systemic complications in patients with cancer, substantially impairing quality of life and limiting the safe administration of cytoreductive therapies. Despite its clinical significance, the mechanisms by which tumors disrupt erythroid homeostasis remain incompletely understood.

Theoretical study of an electrochemically controlled polymer nanoantenna for optical switch
Conventional metallic nanoantennas allow the control of light at the nanoscale, but their untunable structural settings and material properties limit their optical modulation. Methods for dynamical control and modulation of light have become a hot topic in the development and application of nanooptics.

Development and multi-institutional validation of a deep learning model for grading of vesicoureteral reflux on voiding cystourethrogram: a retrospective multicenter study
Keywords Deep learning Voiding cystourethrography Bilateral vesicoureteral reflux Ensemble learning Evidence before this study We searched PubMed and Web of Science with the terms “(Vesicoureteral Reflux OR VUR)” AND “(Voiding Cystourethrogram OR VCUG)” AND “(deep learning OR artificial intelligence)” for papers published from database inception to Nov 7, 2023, with no language restrictions. We find that 2 studies are based on machine learning.
ATACAmp: a tool for detecting ecDNA/HSRs from bulk and single-cell ATAC-seq data - BMC Genomics
The bulk ATAC-seq and WGS data of PC3, COLO320DM, and SNU16 cells and single cell ATAC-seq data of COLO320DM cells were collected with the source and ID numbers (Table S1). These cell lines have been validated for ecDNA regions (Table S2) [3, 9, 19]. The sequence files in the fastq format were pre-processed and indexed using fastp [20], BWA [21], and SAMtools [22]. The ATACAmp workflow is shown in Fig. 1B and comprises the following steps.
