SFI-Net: a scattering feature integration Network for aircraft target detection in SAR images
ABSTRACT Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) can provide all-weather, all-time high-resolution detection of aircraft targets, which is crucial for aviation safety. However, detecting aircraft targets in SAR images often faces challenges such as missed detections, false positives, and incomplete detections.
Bio-Inspired Flex-Rigid Design Enabling High-Performance Multimodal Locomotion of Robots
1 Introduction Animal locomotion is diverse, yet recurring structural motifs allow effective force transmission across contexts [1, 2]. Rabbits achieve rapid jumps by driving their hind leg muscles against the rigid bones of the feet, manta rays propel themselves through water as pectoral fin muscles rhythmically deform the supporting cartilaginous rays, and golden chafer larvae advance underground when dorsal musculature contracts against the stiffened body wall segments.

Abstract Background: To investigate the effects of different resting intervals on successive intraocular pressure (IOP) and biomechanically corrected IOP (bIOP) measurements from corneal visualization Scheimpflug technology tonometry (CST). Methods: This was a prospective repeated-measures observational study in young healthy myopes.
Stability-based partitions for ensemble clustering
Abstract Unsupervised clustering is challenging because there is no gold standard, making cluster quality assessment difficult. Clustering solutions depend on several choices the investigator makes, including the algorithm, hyperparameters, measures of dissimilarity, and the number of clusters. Stability has become a valuable tool for characterizing the quality of a clustering solution and prioritizing clusters.
Application of high-fidelity simulation training based on Kolb’s learning cycle theory in the competence training of anesthesia nurses: a pilot study
Abstract With the establishment of anesthesia monitoring nurse positions in China, anesthesia nursing entails higher risks and demands stronger specialist competencies, requiring targeted training. While simulation training effectively improves nurse competency, studies on high-fidelity simulation for anesthesia nurses grounded in established learning theory remain scarce.
Toward federated large language models in medicine: a parameter-efficient framework for privacy-preserving, multi-institutional adaptation
Abstract Large language models (LLMs) are increasingly adapted for medical applications, but most are trained using data from a single institution because privacy and governance constraints prevent multi-institutional data sharing. As a result, these models often generalize poorly across heterogeneous healthcare systems. We address this gap by introducing Fed-MedLoRA and Fed-MedLoRA + , a parameter-efficient federated framework for collaborative LLM adaptation across healthcare institutions.
Single-cell profiling uncovers a rare mesenchymal-like urothelial state associated with sarcomatoid bladder cancer
Abstract The bladder urothelium is a stratified epithelium, composed of basal, intermediate, and umbrella cells. While epithelial–mesenchymal transition is known to occur during bladder regeneration, carcinogenesis, and bladder cancer tumor progression, it remains unclear whether normal urothelial cells intrinsically possess a hybrid mesenchymal-like epithelial state. We analyzed scRNA-seq data of EPCAM+ urothelial cells from both mouse and human urothelium.

Single-cell imaging analysis, therapeutic modeling and a Phase Ib trial validate BCL-2 as a target across heterogeneous castration-resistant prostate cancer
Abstract BCL-2 has been implicated in prostate cancer (PCa) progression and development of castration-resistant disease (CRPC); however, it remains unclear how the BCL-2- and AR-expressing PCa cell populations evolve across the PCa continuum, how AR molecularly regulates BCL-2 and whether BCL-2 represents a common therapeutic target in heterogeneous CRPC. Here we first show the selective induction of BCL-2 by AR pathway inhibitors (ARPIs).

W.E. Talk | Célio Hiratuka: stable China-Brazil cooperation offers an important reference in a more volatile world
By Han Yu (CNS) -- Geopolitical conflict is reshaping the international economy in more direct ways. In late March, continued fighting in the Middle East disrupted the Strait of Hormuz, a critical corridor that carries about 20 percent of global oil and gas shipments, while Brent crude prices rose to their highest level since July 2022. The episode once again exposed the vulnerability of energy, shipping, and financial markets.

This study aimed to explore this dose–response and potential non-linear relationship between depressive symptoms and pain in middle-aged and older Chinese adults. Utilizing data from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS), both cross-sectional (n = 16,356) and longitudinal cohort analyses (n = 8204) were conducted.
Perovskite–organic tandem solar cells with superior reverse-bias stability
|
Abstract The industrial deployment of thin-film solar cells faces challenges under reverse bias, particularly concerning perovskite materials with poor reverse-bias stability. Meanwhile, the reverse-bias characteristics of organic solar cells (OSCs) remain underexplored. This study first elucidates the mechanism that reverse tunnelling in OSCs, fundamentally dominated by deep trap state within a bulk heterojunction, triggering reversible/irreversible breakdowns under reverse bias.

An orthogonal RNA aptamer for targeted RNA regulation in phase-separated subcellular compartments
Abstract Subcellular compartments organize RNAs into phase-separated condensates, significantly influencing RNA metabolism. However, the study of how specific RNAs regulate interacting factors and their phenotypic outcomes is hindered by the lack of advanced imaging and regulation tools. To address this, we developed an orthogonal RNA aptamer system, Clivia-HT, which integrates a fluorescent imager with a ribonuclease-targeting chimera (RIBOTAC) degrader.

Mammalian cells measure the extracellular matrix area and respond through switching the adhesion state - Nature Communications
Abstract Mammalian cells adjust integrin-mediated adhesion based on the composition and structure of the extracellular matrix (ECM). However, how spatially confined ECM ligands regulate cell adhesion initiation remains unclear. Here, we investigate how cells adapt early adhesion to different ECM protein areas. Through combining microcontact printing with single-cell force spectroscopy we measure cell adhesion initiation and strengthening to defined areas of ECM proteins.
Revealing electron transport connectivity as an important factor influencing stability of organic solar cells - Nature Communications
Abstract In the pursuit of advancing the commercialization of organic solar cells (OSCs), stability emerges as a paramount challenge. Herein, we show that the electron transport connectivity is a key factor determining the electron transport and device stability of OSCs. When compared to small molecular acceptors (SMAs), the larger-size polymeric acceptors (PAs) are likely to establish an electron transport network with superior connectivity.
