AUSTIN (KXAN) — Colorado State University is predicting the slowest hurricane season since 2014. Forecasters have reduced their numbers to nine named storms, four hurricanes, and just one major hurricane from their June forecast of 11 named storms, five hurricanes, and one major hurricane. If the forecast is correct, it would be the slowest Atlantic season since 2014. There has so far only been one named storm: Tropical Storm Arthur in mid-June.

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Dry and warm evening, with an isolated shower possible after sunset, especially in the Hill Country. Several counties north of Austin are in a Level 1 out of 5 Marginal severe risk, with damaging winds being the primary concern. A boundary associated with the system lingers in the area through the start of the week. This could initiate more afternoon showers and a storm or two on Monday and Tuesday.
