High pressure and humidity continue through the week
AUSTIN (KXAN) — As high pressure holds strong over our area expect triple-digits to continue and high dew points keeping the heat index near dangerous levels. Temperatures will dip into the high 70’s as the night continues. It will remain humid but no rainfall this evening. Expect another triple-digit day as we inch towards a record number days over 100 degrees for September, having almost doubling our annual norm.

The system is off the southern coast of Louisiana and is forecast to move to the west/northwest over the next 24 hours. An Air Force Reserve reconnaissance plane flew into the storm Monday morning and found an ill-defined center of circulation with sustained winds of 35 miles per hour.
