Bypassing Schottky constraints via defect-mediated hydrogen transfer in hydrodechlorination - Nature Communications
Abstract Hydrogen-mediated transformations at heterointerfaces are often limited by a fundamental kinetic mismatch: the need for strong interfacial polarization to stabilize active hydrogen (H*) often creates high Schottky barriers that impede the necessary electron supply. Here, using a defect-engineered MoS2/Fe(OH)2 heterojunction for chloroform (CF) hydrodechlorination, we resolve this trade-off by engineering a defect-band hybridization mechanism.

Universal loss and gain characterization inside photonic integrated circuits - Nature Photonics
Abstract Integrated photonics has undergone tremendous development in the past few decades. Loss and gain are two fundamental parameters in photonic integrated circuits (PICs) and have direct impacts on nearly all key performance metrics. Surprisingly, the tools to characterize the optical loss and gain inside PICs are very limited. This is because, unlike free-space or fibre optics, integrated circuits cannot be non-destructively disassembled.

Scalable and sustainable remediation of OPD-contaminated aquifer via amphipathic multi-component covalent organic polymers
O-phenylenediamine (OPD), a typical representative of aniline compounds found in non-aqueous phase liquids (NAPLs), is extensively released into groundwater and adheres to aquifers through industrial discharges or as breakdown products of pesticides or herbicides [1]. Given its substantial toxicity and suspected carcinogenicity (Lethal Dose, 50% (LD50) = 1070 mg/kg), a reliable, swift, and eco-friendly method for removing OPD from groundwater is urgently needed [2], [3].
A Coordinated Bidding Strategy of Wind Power Producers and DR Aggregators Using a Cooperative Game Approach

Traditionally, frequency regulation has been largely offered by conventional power plants, i.e., thermal generators and hydropower plants. However, conventional power plants are gradually being displaced by renewable resources.
Electrochemical removal of imidacloprid on different anodes with in-situ H2O2 generation: Optimizing conditions for rapid degradation and safe byproducts
Pesticides are compounds employed to prevent, eliminate, or reduce pests [1]. They are classified as organochlorines, organophosphates, carbamates, pyrethroids, and neonicotinoids (NCTs). NCTs constitute the most important commercial insecticide class available worldwide [2]. They are effective in controlling sucking pests and account for about 24 % of the total insecticide market [2], [3]. NCTs have relatively small molar mass and high solubility in water.
Enhancing simultaneous nitrogen and phosphorus removal using partial nitritation/anammox with an airlift inner-circulation partition bioreactor
The key reason for the increasing levels of eutrophication in global waters is the excessive discharge of nitrogen and phosphorus, which leads to the formation of algal blooms and disruption of aquatic ecosystems [1], [2], [3], [4], [5]. P is a bioessential element and a non-renewable resource. It has been estimated that the global demand for P will exceed its supply by 2035 [6], [7], [8].
Highly Bright Colloidal Gallium-Doped CuInS2 Quantum Dots for Luminescent Solar Concentrators
Highly Bright Colloidal Gallium-Doped CuInS2 Quantum Dots for Luminescent Solar Concentrators We have developed an efficient strategy to improve the brightness and stability of CuInS2 quantum dots via Ga3+ doping combined with the overgrowth of ZnS shell. The incorporation of Ga3+ in crystal lattices greatly suppresses the diffusion of Cu+ and reduce the formation of Cu-related defects, leading to a photoluminescence quantum yield as high as 92%.
