Gender imbalance in primary school teaching: how gender stereotypes perpetuate the issue in China
ABSTRACT Across the globe, and particularly in China, men are increasingly underrepresented in primary school teaching. While existing research has examined organisational and individual factors, less attention has been paid to gender norms. Drawing on a social constructivist perspective, this qualitative study examines how gender stereotypes are reproduced and experienced by male primary school teachers under a Confucian–collectivist gender regime in China.
Patterns of clonal hematopoiesis in aplastic anemia under immunosuppressive therapy
Abstract Aplastic anemia (AA) is an immune-mediated bone marrow failure disorder with 15–20% risk of clonal evolution. We analyzed 371 patients with AA receiving immunosuppressive therapy (IST). All patients underwent PNH testing and 357 evaluable for cytogenetic analysis. Two hundred and thirty-seven received serial targeted sequencing. Clonal characteristics were compared before and after IST across age, disease severity, and hematological response.
Graphitic carbon for ultrahigh-capacity removal of neonicotinoids in real water systems
Abstract The widespread application of neonicotinoid pesticides (NEOs) has caused severe contamination of aquatic environments, posing serious threats to water resources and ecological sustainability. In this study, graphitic micro-mesoporous composite carbon (GMC) was synthesized via template-assisted method and employed for the adsorption of NEOs from water.
Low hemoglobin-albumin-lymphocyte-platelet score as a risk marker for stroke-associated pneumonia in acute ischemic stroke: a retrospective cohort study
Abstract Background: Stroke-associated pneumonia (SAP) is a common and serious complication of acute ischemic stroke (AIS). The hemoglobin, albumin, lymphocyte, and platelet (HALP) score reflects nutritional, inflammatory, and immune status, but its association with SAP remains unclear. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 1,766 consecutive AIS patients admitted between January 2019 and December 2023. HALP was calculated from blood tests obtained within 48 h of admission.
Unlocking the reducing power of metal nitrides by mechanochemical hydrodefluorination of fluorinated compounds
Abstract The carbon-fluorine (C–F) bond, present in both aromatic C(sp2)–F and aliphatic C(sp3)–F moieties, possesses an exceptionally high bond energy. This inherent stability renders C–F bond activation highly challenging. In this work, we address this challenge and reclaim valuable hydrocarbons from fluorinated compounds, including aryl fluorides, alkyl fluorides, and perfluoroalkyl substances, by developing a mechanochemical hydrodefluorination strategy.

Full article: Treatment-free survival to bortezomib combined with dexamethasone in patients with refractory/relapsed pure red cell aplasia: a prospective clinical study
Abstract Background Immunosuppressive treatments induce and maintain remissions in a majority of patients with acquired pure red cell aplasia (aPRCA); however, salvage therapy for non-responders remains unsatisfactory. Methods In this prospective, open-label, clinical trial (NCT04423367), patients with refractory/relapsed aPRCA were recruited and received subcutaneous bortezomib at 1.3 mg/m2 in combination with dexamethasone 40 mg weekly(BD regimen) for 12 weeks.

Mechanochemically Synthesized Covalent Organic Frameworks as Catalyst for Suzuki-Miyaura Coupling Reaction
Mechanochemically Synthesized Covalent Organic Frameworks as Catalyst for Suzuki-Miyaura Coupling Reaction The large-scale synthesis of covalent organic frameworks (COFs) demands rapid, efficient, and environmentally friendly methods. Conventional solvothermal syntheses face significant limitations, such as poor scalability, sensitivity to reaction conditions, and prolonged reaction times, which can extend from 2 to 10 days, hindering their practical applications.

The ultrastructural and proteomic analysis of mitochondria‐associated endoplasmic reticulum membrane in the midbrain of a Parkinson's disease mouse model
1 INTRODUCTION Parkinson's disease (PD) is one of the most common movement disorders. Up to now, the exact etiology and pathogenesis of PD still remain largely elusive, bringing great challenges in disease prevention and targeted therapy (Bloem et al., 2021). Multiple risk factors such as ageing, environmental factors and genetic backgrounds, have been reported to be related to the occurrence of PD.

4. Discussion 4.1. Differences in Soil Physicochemical Properties of Taiga Forests with Different Important Values of Larix gmelinii Habitat heterogeneity denotes the uneven distribution of numerous biotic and abiotic elements that influence ecological processes within the natural environment []. Soil performs a vital role in forest ecosystems and can display strong heterogeneity due to changes in the aboveground vegetation communities [].
Variations in the Diversity and Biomass of Soil Bacteria and Fungi under Different Fire Disturbances in the Taiga Forests of Northeastern China
4. Discussion 4.1. Effects of Forest Fires on Soil Physicochemical Properties Forest fires consume the dead litter layer and change the physicochemical properties of forest soil through oxidation, volatilization, convection of ash particles and leaching [11]. This study demonstrates that fires also cause significant changes in soil AN, TN, SOC, AK and AP, detectible after one and even two decades.

Statistical and modeling methods Association rule analysis primarily refers to the process of discovering potential relationships and rules between study subjects in large-scale datasets. It is widely used in medicine and economics, and the most classic algorithm is the Apriori algorithm, which can determine the frequent item set and importance in the dataset according to some indicators, such as support, confidence, and lift [24, 25].
