When he committed to one of Florida’s biggest basketball rivals, it was seen as an even bigger shock. But Aberdeen is making his home right in Lexington in hopes of himself going back-to-back, and he believes he has found the right spot to do so.

Independence Homes opened officially in August but celebrated its arrival with local officials in a ribbon-cutting on Thursday. CEO and Director Amy Brown is the daughter of Founder Bob Brown. Like her father, she wants to provide affordable housing for those with special needs.
