Bis(2-Adamantyl)Magnesium: Synthesis, Structure, and Applications of a Versatile and Shelf-Stable 2-Adamantyl Anion Equivalent
1 Introduction The adamantyl group is a privileged substituent. It is an alkyl group, but it is also the smallest substituent that is a molecular nanodiamond (diamondoid). It is one of the most electron-donating alkyl groups, and is used extensively in materials [1, 2], as well as in phosphine ligands [3, 4] and metal complexes [5, 6] for catalysis.

Methods: Following IRB approval, an electronic survey was distributed to members of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons (AAES).
A communication subspace relays context-dependent actions from human prefrontal to motor cortex
Abstract Adaptive behavior relies on the ability to translate abstract rules and goals into actions suited to the current context. Neural population activity in the prefrontal cortex (PFC) has been proposed to support such flexible computations through high-dimensional dynamics, whereas activity in the primary motor cortex (M1) is related more directly to movement execution. How contextual representations in PFC are transformed into ensuing action plans within M1 remains unknown.
Perturbation-induced responses improved seizure forecasting in epileptic rats
We tested whether electrical perturbation-induced responses could be used to identify the preictal state in epileptic rats. A multivariable logistic regression of five features of the evoked response accurately discriminated the preictal from interictal state, with area under the receiver operating characteristic curve up to .95. A similar approach using features from passive (i.e., nonperturbed) recordings failed to discriminate the preictal states.
Cortical-limbic circuit dynamics of approach-avoidance conflict in humans
Abstract Choosing to approach or avoid is common in everyday life and excessive avoidance is a cardinal feature of anxiety disorders. We use intracranial EEG to define a prefrontal-limbic circuit supporting approach and avoidance. Presurgical epilepsy patients (n = 20) performed an approach-avoidance conflict decision-making task inspired by the arcade game Pac-Man, where patients trade off rewards against losses from ghost attack.
High-frequency bursts facilitate fast communication for human spatial attention - Nature Neuroscience
Abstract Brain-wide communication supporting flexible behavior requires coordination between sensory and associative regions but how brain networks route sensory information at fast timescales to guide action remains unclear.
Cortical versus hippocampal network dysfunction in a human brain assembloid model of epilepsy and intellectual disability
Keywords: neural circuits cellular neuroscience neural stem cells epilepsy brain organoids disease modeling hippocampal assembloids Research topic(s) CP: Neuroscience Introduction Human neurodevelopmental disorders are often characterized by complex phenotypes involving neural network dysfunction across multiple brain regions. Despite this, our understanding of how a single perturbation can uniquely impact brain development and network function in different regions remains limited.
Low-Dose CT Denoising Algorithm Based on Fully Convolutional Neural Network
This version is not peer-reviewed. This version is not peer-reviewed. To address the issue of severe noise caused by reduced radiation dose in low-dose medical CT images, which leads to significant image quality degradation, this paper proposes a denoising algorithm for low-dose CT images based on residual attention mechanisms and adaptive feature fusion. The proposed method utilizes a fully convolutional neural network to complete the denoising task.

Optimizing automated detection of high frequency oscillations using visual markings does not improve SOZ localization
Abstract Objective: High frequency oscillations (HFOs) are a biomarker of the seizure onset zone (SOZ) and can be visually or automatically detected. In theory, one can optimize an automated algorithm's parameters to maximize SOZ localization accuracy; however, there is no consensus on whether or how this should be done. Therefore, we optimized an automated detector using visually identified HFOs and evaluated the impact on SOZ localization accuracy.

Multiple memory systems for efficient temporal order memory
Abstract We report distinct contributions of multiple memory systems to the retrieval of the temporal order of events. The neural dynamics related to the retrieval of movie scenes revealed that recalling the temporal order of close events elevates hippocampal theta power, like that observed for recalling close spatial relationships. In contrast, recalling far events increases beta power in the orbitofrontal cortex, reflecting recall based on the overall movie structure.

Masks Do No More Than Prevent Transmission: Theory and Data Undermine the Variolation Hypothesis
Abstract Background. Masking serves an important role in reducing the transmission of respiratory viruses, including SARS-CoV-2. During the COVID-19 pandemic, several perspective and review articles have also argued that masking reduces the risk of developing severe disease by reducing the inoculum dose received by the contact. This hypothesis, known as the variolation hypothesis, has gained considerable traction since its development. Methods.
