ANCHORAGE, AK (Alaska’s News Source) - Alaska is in the grip of an unusual heat wave, with temperatures climbing into the 70s and 80s across much of the state. The combination of extreme heat, dry conditions, and active lightning has prompted Red Flag warnings and heat advisories across the northern interior, creating dangerous fire conditions. In Fairbanks and Fort Yukon, temperatures hit the low 80s degrees Tuesday. Anchorage will see highs near 70 degrees.
