After some patchy dense fog in the morning, our Friday turned out to be a pretty nice day. Temperatures cruised through the 60s, and into the 70s in a few spots, courtesy of a decent dose of much-needed sunshine. Overnight, another dose of rain and thunder looks to be a good bet as a pretty strong cold front moves in from the west. As the front sweeps off to our east Saturday morning, the rain will move out, and much chillier air will funnel in on a strong westerly wind.

MID-MICHIGAN (WJRT) - Road work will begin Monday on Lansing Road between Bancroft Road and Newburg Road. Single-lane closures will be in place, and motorists should expect delays. FLINT, Mich. (WJRT) - The city of Flint is launching a new initiative to make neighborhoods safer and cleaner as summer approaches. City officials announced the Safe and Clean Summer Initiative, which includes increased police patrols, stricter enforcement on abandoned vehicles and blight, and new speed humps to slow down traffic. Mayor Sheldon Neeley said the focus is on the beautification and safety of Flint.

PINCONNING, Mich. (WJRT) - A potential threat was identified and removed at Pinconning Middle/High School on Thursday, according to a memo from the school's principal. Principal Sarah Braun said school administration became aware of the threat April 16 and worked with law enforcement to remove it. Further details about the nature of the threat were not released. Braun said staff acted immediately, and a thorough assessment was conducted with law enforcement.
