ROCKFORD, Ill. (Rockford News First) - Rusty Taco gets ready to celebrate its first year in Rockford. The Texas-based fast-food chain opened in August 2025. Local franchise owners say it is the only location in Illinois and one of the only locations in the Midwest. The chain was founded in 2010 by Rusty Fenton who had the idea for a neighborhood taco stand. Menu offerings include several variations of tacos and burritos, including breakfast tacos served all day.
