QUINCY (WGEM) - Work to replace lead water service lines continues to progress throughout the City of Quincy. The state has mandated the replacement of all lead service lines, the lines from individual homes to public water mains, by 2037. Public Works Director Jeffrey Conte said the city already has replaced more than 1,000 of these lines, with several thousand remaining. He spoke on this week’s issue of the WGEM digital program “City Desk.” “We’ve actually did last year close to 500 replacements.
