WASHINGTON (7News) — Hundreds of police officers across the country are injured or killed in the line of duty every year. Earlier this month, those officers were honored during National Police Week. Some of those officers, due to the nature of their injuries, need more specialized treatment than what workers' compensation programs often provide. Now, a Virginia spine surgeon is stepping in to help with the assistance of a mystery philanthropist.
