Weekend freeway closure scheduled for Jan. 16-19 in East Valley

PHOENIX — East Valley drivers may need to adjust their travel plans due to a planned freeway closure over the weekend. In its Weekend Freeway Travel Advisory for Jan. 16-19, the Arizona Department of Transportation announced that a stretch of the Loop 202 Santan Freeway is scheduled to shut down from Friday night to Monday morning. The department added that plans could change due to weather or other factors.

Missing Navajo Nation girl found dead

PHOENIX – A missing 8-year-old girl from the Navajo Nation has been found dead, officials announced. Authorities issued a Turquoise Alert for Maleeka Brown on Friday morning after she went missing in Coalmine, Arizona, which is southeast of Tuba City.

According to the Maricopa County Department of Public Health (MCDPH), the exposure, which involved someone who does not live in Maricopa County, happened at the Hale Centre Theatre Arizona on the following dates and times: Jan. 5, 6 and 7 from 6:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Jan.
