On Monday, Rob and I dropped our son, Isaac, off at MCLA for the start of his senior year. It's hard to believe he'll graduate from college in May. It seems like just yesterday he was in the kitchen helping me with dinner. Cookbook Review "Weeknight Winners, Family Dinners" by Jack and Emmy Zhang Published by Simon Element 240 pages $32.50 Isaac was a rambunctious toddler. He did not sit still. I soon found the only way to make dinner and know what he was up to was to have him by my side.

WILLIAMSTOWN — Pastel pinks, purples, greens, blues, yellows and oranges spiral, undulate and slash across unprimed, unstretched canvases nailed to the gallery walls of the Lunder Center at Stone Hill. The marks are simple, impersonal, pleasing to the eye. They are marks “that could be made by any hand,” as their maker, Italian abstract artist Giorgio Griffa, likes to point out.

The Rabkin Prize celebrates the creative and intellectual contributions of today’s visual arts writers and comes with an unrestricted award of $50,000. Arts writers from across the U.S. are identified via a nomination process and an independent jury selects the winners.
