Drop (2025)
Widowed mother Violet is back out on the dating scene after a traumatic marriage, and to her horror, someone keeps messaging her telling her to kill Henry, her date, or her five year old son, Toby will die. Yikes. First dates are tough enough without murder and intrigue getting in the way. Things start out normally enough. Violet’s nervous. Her sister, Jen, encourages her to glam up. Violet waits nervously at the restaurant bar and chitchats with Richard, an older guy who’s there on a blind date.
Drop Reviews

“I USED TO GO HERE”
“I USED TO GO HERE” August 6, 2020 by butlerscinemascene “I USED TO GO HERE” My rating: C+ (On Demand Aug. 7) 80 minutes | No MPAA rating We’re told that you can’t go home again. You probably shouldn’t go back to school, either. In “I Used to Go Here” writer/director Kris Rey gives us a heroine who is finding adult life problematical and plops her down in the college environment she left 15 years earlier.
Fantasy Island | Film Threat
By Anthony Ray Bench | February 15, 2020 I vividly remember being in a movie theater when the trailer for Blum House’s Fantasy Island film hit. About 10 seconds into it, the entire audience collectively groaned. When the title of the film flashed on the screen, there was laughter. We’ve had dozens of movies in recent years that tried to take an old property and failed at trying to do something new with it.

Truth or Dare Review - I Dare You to Never See This Movie
Horror often comes in waves. We saw it with the J-horror craze that swept the US in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. Then the French Extreme shocked us in the mid-2000’s. The extreme horror of the early 2000’s, with films such as Saw and Hostel, gave way to found footage, which has since stepped aside for the supernatural resurgence. Success is often the precursor to a trend. So here’s hoping that Truth or Dare tanks and we don’t have to endure a spate of horror films based on innocuous party games.
Blumhouse will play Truth or Dare with Lucy Hale next April
Earlier this year, we tracked the progress of a new Blumhouse contribution to the horror genre, director Jeff Wadlow's TRUTH OR DARE. A cast consisting of Lucy Hale, Tyler Posey, Violett Beane, Sophia Taylor Ali, Nolan Gerard Funk, Hayden Szeto, and Aurora Perrineau was assembled, and the project went into production. It has since wrapped, and Universal has announced when they will be releasing it into the world. TRUTH OR DARE has been scheduled for a theatrical release on April 27, 2018.
