The IKKα-regulated microRNA miR-9-5p mediates lung cancer growth and invasiveness via CDH1/Wnt/β-catenin signalling
Abstract IKKα is a serine/threonine kinase that acts as a tumour suppressor in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in an NF-κΒ-independent manner, however, little is known about its downstream signalling pathways. To interrogate the IKKα signalling network in NSCLC, we investigated the impact of IKKα silencing on the miRNA expression profile of NSCLC cells. Nanostring miRNome analysis identified miR-9-5p, a known oncomir, as the top upregulated miRNA upon IKKα depletion.
Nucleoporin TPR integrates MAPK signaling with mitogen-induced transcriptional programs
Abstract The nuclear pore complex (NPC) component TPR has emerged as a multifunctional scaffold implicated in mitosis, chromatin organization, mRNA export, and genome stability. However, TPR’s role in mitogenic signal transduction remains largely unexplored. Here, we investigate whether nucleoporin TPR functions as a MAPK-regulated nuclear component that modulates mitogenic signals initiated at the plasma membrane—including EGFR activation—and their transcriptional output.
MEK inhibition in adult patients with pilocytic astrocytomas
Abstract Pilocytic astrocytomas (PAs) are rare primary brain tumors in adults and exhibit worse outcomes compared with pediatric cases. Surgery is the primary therapeutic approach, whereas radiation therapy (RT) is reserved for symptomatic recurrence but is associated with substantial long-term toxicity.
