Increased education is associated with decreased odds of depression in females, not males, with multiple sclerosis
Keywords Depression Multiple Sclerosis Education Sex Difference 1 Introduction Depression is more common in multiple sclerosis (MS) than in the general population (Boeschoten et al., 2017; Lim et al., 2018; Feinstein et al., 2025), contributing to reduced quality of life (Pashazadeh Kan et al., 2022), unemployment (van Egmond et al., 2024), and increased mortality (Palladino et al., 2021).
Neurobiology of Pet Loss Grief: An Integrative Review from a One Health Perspective
You are already at the latest version The loss of a companion animal can provoke grief whose intensity rivals human bereavement, yet its biological basis remains largely uncharted. This structured narrative review synthesizes neurobiological, endocrinological, immunological, and psychosocial evidence into a mechanistic framework offered not as established fact but as a source of testable hypotheses.
Piezo1 Mechanotransduction in Skeletal Muscle: Convergence with Noncoding RNA Regulation in Myogenesis, Regeneration, and Sarcopenia
You are already at the latest version Skeletal muscle is a continuously load-bearing tissue whose growth, repair, and age-related decline are governed by mechanical signals, and failure of this mechano-regulation underlies disuse atrophy and sarcopenia.

ECTRIMS 2025: The Impact of New Developments in RRMS
Dr Jiwon Oh discusses the impact of several promising developments in the treatment of relapsing multiple sclerosis (MS), including positive phase 2 extension results for frexalimab and fenebrutinib, both of which demonstrated strong efficacy and safety profiles. Additional early research suggested that combining metformin and clemastine may promote remyelination, offering hope for neurorepair strategies in relapsing MS.

Adhesive, biocompatible, and conductive reduced graphene oxide hydrogel-based bioelectrodes for epidermal electrophysiological signal monitoring
Adhesive, biocompatible, and conductive reduced graphene oxide hydrogel-based bioelectrodes for epidermal electrophysiological signal monitoring Conductive hydrogel bioelectrodes that acquire human physiological information are vital in continuously monitoring various electrophysiological (EP) signals. However, poor adhesion under human physical/chemical activities limits their performance, adversely affecting the accuracy and continuity of biosignals.

Emerging therapies to target CNS pathophysiology in multiple sclerosis - Nature Reviews Neurology
Abstract The rapidly evolving therapeutic landscape of multiple sclerosis (MS) has contributed to paradigm shifts in our understanding of the biological mechanisms that contribute to CNS injury and in treatment philosophies. Opportunities remain to further improve treatment of relapsing–remitting MS, but two major therapeutic gaps are the limiting of progressive disease mechanisms and the repair of CNS injury.

Side effects that occurred early in people with multiple sclerosis during the first year of treatment with cladribine tablets: a plain language summary | Neurodegenerative Disease Management
Neurodegenerative Disease ManagementVol. 12, No. 1 Plain Language Summary of PublicationOpen Access Abstract People with multiple sclerosis (also shortened to MS) may have difficulties staying on treatment due to side effects. Cladribine tablets, approved for treating relapsing forms of MS, are given by mouth for four short periods over two years. The benefit of convenient dosing may be lost if side effects prevent people with MS from finishing their treatment.

Diagnosis and management of secondary-progressive multiple sclerosis: time for change
Practice points There are four key stages in the transition from relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis to secondary-progressive multiple sclerosis (SPMS): recognizing the early signs associated with transition, establishing a diagnosis of SPMS, developing a management plan and disease monitoring. The transition to SPMS typically invokes strong emotional responses that are unique to each patient. Most patients and caregivers wish to be informed and educated through these stages.
