I am winding down in preparation for my June 30 retirement. Throughout my 25-plus years with the Northwest Connecticut Chamber of Commerce, I have had the good fortune of wearing many Chamber hats. There were so many that one might wonder which hat I was wearing at any given moment. It was a remarkably interesting, ever-changing, productive schedule.

It would be sacrilegious if I didn't acknowledge Valentine's Day since I love hearts. They seem to appear everywhere … heart thumb tacks holding the Chamber's mission, a heart pin with the stars and stripes on my bulletin board, heart frames with my beautiful grandchildren, heart sticky notes with Chamber reminders, a heart paperweight, a heart ornament hanging on my wall and heart magnets. Somehow, I connect my heartbeat to that of the Chamber.
