Homicide unit investigating after dead body discovered in Stoney Creek

A homicide investigation is underway after a body was discovered on Wednesday morning in Stoney Creek. On Wednesday, at around 8:15 a.m., emergency responders responded to a call for an unresponsive person in a culvert near the north end of Fruitland Road. That individual was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene, Hamilton Police Service said in a news release. Police are calling this death suspicious.

Police make arrest in Milton ‘fake agent’ scam

A man from Milton is facing several charges after police allegedly seized 22 electronic devices believed to be valued at more than $36,000 in a so-called “fake agent” fraud. Police say scammers, based in Milton, contacted victims while posing as employees or agents of telecommunications companies like Rogers, Bell, or Telus.
