An Entre Ríos town commemorates the Anglo-Argentines who fought in World War I

The town of Ibicuy, in Entre Ríos province, marked the centenary of its Great Cross with a ceremony inaugurating the Cross Promenade. Last Saturday, municipal president Ezequiel Martín Maneiro, representatives from the British Embassy, provincial legislators, local authorities and students joined residents in paying tribute to the 29 Anglo-Argentines who left Entre Ríos to fight in World War I.

A Buenos Aires square with Scottish roots pays tribute to San Martín

The Plaza Ciudad de Banff in the Versalles neighborhood of Buenos Aires hosted a tribute to General José de San Martín. The event celebrated the 201st anniversary of the day Banff, the Scottish city the square is named after, granted the Argentine national hero honorary citizenship, on August 19, 1824. Originally scheduled for August 19th, the ceremony was postponed until the 26th due to bad weather.

Buenos Aires British Cemetery commemorates the 80th Anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe

As in many cities across Europe, Buenos Aires paid tribute to the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. A solemn ceremony was held to honour the thousands of Argentine volunteers who fought against totalitarian regimes in defence of freedom. The event served as a heartfelt remembrance of those who sacrificed their lives and those who returned from battle. Their courageous efforts contributed to the noble cause of securing peace and liberty.
