However, I hear fellow seniors expressing fears that Jaime has voted to cut this program. Where is the evidence? Her website and voting record both show that she is diligently working to strengthen and protect Social Security. Secondly, her commitment to serve those she was elected to represent is notable.

Winter is on its way, but that doesn’t mean we need to forsake all the goodness from our gardens, or from the produce shelves. We paid a visit to the kitchen of Preserving Place on Atlanta’s Westside neighborhood, where Martha McMillin teaches classes on food preservation, including canning, fermentation and pickling. Host John Lemley talked with Martha about why she thinks pickling has made a comeback and what it means to her, as we made a batch of that southern delicacy, pickled okra.

Just about every Monday, Daren Wang of the AJC-Decatur Book Festival joins us to talk about books. This time, instead of highlighting authors coming to town, we asked him to come up with a few holiday gifts for the book lovers among us. He came up with three gift ideas. The first two are books, "What I Came To Tell You" by Tommy Hays, "Liar, Temptress, Soldier, Spy: Four Women Undercover In The Civil War" by Karen Abbott, and the third is a subscription to the Bitter Southerner book club.
