(WCAX) - UVM Health Network employees are building their futures through the Pathfinder Program, a partnership with the Community College of Vermont. “This is taking long-term, very loyal employees, not always long-term but loyal employees who aspire beyond the job they have,” said Community College of Vermont President Joyce Judy. UVM Health Network offers up to four vouchers through the program for nine courses CCV offers.

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - When it’s summer and time to enjoy the outdoors, one internship is ensuring that people of all abilities can do so. Vermont Adaptive, located at Waterfront Park in Burlington, is helping people pedal on the bike path or paddle on the water. Staff members train interns on special equipment and safety so they can take a kayaker out on the water. “They come in and we train them up. We do all in house training on bikes, kayaks and canoes, how to work all the adaptive equipment.

Dachshund Otto defeats incumbent in Middlebury dog mayor race

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. (WCAX) - After some “ruff” competition, the votes are in. Otto is Middlebury’s second dog mayor. Dachshund Otto defeated incumbent yellow lab Tela to become Middlebury’s new dog mayor Thursday, scoring 713 votes out of more than 1,700 cast. Tela received 487 votes in her reelection bid. The campaign raised $8,915 for Homeward Bound of Addison County, the humane society for the Middlebury area.
