KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Tennessee sophomore pitcher Tegan Kuhns has been drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals 32nd overall in the 2026 MLB Draft. Kuhns is the first Tennessee player selected in the 2026 draft and the 19th pitcher drafted from Tennessee since 2022. Since 2024, Tennessee has had 15 players chosen in the first four rounds of the draft. A native of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, Kuhns was named Second-Team All-SEC as a starting pitcher in 2026.

Staple in Knoxville bowling community reopens after 2024 fire

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The building that houses Strike and Spare has sat on Western Avenue since 1959. An incident in December 2024 nearly shut down the bowling center for good. On December 4, 2024, General Manager Wendy Cox turned up the heat for the bowlers in attendance. 15 minutes later, smoke began pouring in from the ceiling tiles. The resulting smoke and water damage forced the building to close for an extensive rebuild, including months of demolition.
