DeCamara doesn't buy Jalen Hurts as an elite quarterback
Pro Football Focus' quarterback rankings have stirred up quite the discussion this week, and much of the debate has centered around where Jalen Hurts should rank among the rest of the league. Hurts came in at fifth overall, the first quarterback in PFF's second tier, which they labeled as "high-end starter." Some Eagles fans believe Hurts deserves more respect, but Joe DeCamara believes his spot on that list is more than fair.
Jason Kelce explains how he and Jeffrey Lurie saved the Tush Push
Jason Kelce joined Jeffrey Lurie in the room at the NFL Owner's Meetings this week where the tush push was adjudicated on, and now, thanks to the result, he can be hailed as the man that saved the play! Even if, as he admitted to Joe DeCamara and Jody Mac on Friday, he felt like he didn't belong.
Nick Sirianni silenced his doubters all the way to contract extension
Nick Sirianni has signed a multi-year contract extension with the Eagles, and there was little doubt from any corners of the fanbase that the head coach was more than deserving to receive. After all, Sirianni is coming off a Super Bowl championship in his second trip to the Big Game in three years, and arguably led the most dominant team in franchise history to an 18-3 record.
Would you trade Joel Embiid to Lakers?
Bill Simmons opened some eyes around the NBA world when he floated a trade idea on his podcast of the Lakers throwing all of their expiring contracts and perhaps a first-round pick to the Sixers for Joel Embiid. LA, which traded away Anthony Davis for Luka Doncic, is in need of a center, and Embiid is one of the best in basketball when healthy.
Brandon Graham relives epic Tom Brady strip sack with Morning Show
It wouldn't be Brandon Graham Day without the two-time Super Bowl champion in studio, and BG joined Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie on Monday morning to relive the lifelong Eagle's biggest moments of his 15-year career. Of course, the starting point was his strip sack of Tom Brady in Super Bowl LII to send the Birds on their way to their first Super Bowl title.

They are right to be concerned.
Eric Dickerson is indeed a #BackForBarkley
After an unforeseen delay on Thursday, Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie finally got the king endorsement of #BacksForBarkley from the all-time rushing leader himself, Eric Dickerson! As you probably expected, Dickerson, whose rushing-record season was usurped by Dan Marino winning MVP, he is 1000 percent in favor of Barkley as the NFL MVP.
Eagles proved they are 'legitimate' with win over Ravens
Jason Kelce joined the WIP Morning Show for his weekly spot on Thursday morning, and he started by giving the current Eagles team the highest of praise when it comes to their identity and potential after an eighth straight win. Kelce raved about the physicality he saw from Philly against a dynamic Ravens team, which he believes bodes well for the team's Super Bowl chances this season.
Shady's endorsement of Jon Ritchie's 'Backs for Barkley' gets Jon in hot water with Joe & James Seltzer
We're rolling out "Backs for Barkley" trying to get fellow rock-toters behind Saquon as the MVP, and our own Jon Ritchie was the first guy to jump in and take the wheel of the bandwagon.
Heated debate ensues on WIP Mornings over whether Jalen Hurts could keep Eagles from title
The WIP Mornings show kicked off with a heated debate on Wednesday, as Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie went at it after Joe posed the question if Eagles fans should be worried that Jalen Hurts will hold the team back from winning a Super Bowl in 2024. "Now that the likelihood of getting there has increased, do you worry about Jalen holding the Eagles back from winning it all?" Joe began. "It's a worthy conversation.
Jaws tells Joe & Jon the Eagles' defense has been the biggest surprise of the season
It's a Jaws Tuesday on WIP Mornings, and this is the third time in four years the Birds have been 10-2 as we enter December, giving Ron Jaworski a lot to be thankful for on the week after Thanksgiving. "I'm surprised, but I think the defense has been phenomenal; after that 2-2 start, what Vic Fangio has done in restructuring his defense to me was absolutely phenomenal," Jaws said. "I quickly think about the Ravens game, just incredible tackling, especially in open space.
Primary care sports medicine physician on Eagles' Week 13 injuries
Reed Blankenship left Sunday's Eagles win in Baltimore with a concussion, while Dallas Goedert left in the fourth quarter with some sort of knee injury and DeVonta Smith didn't play at all for a second straight week due to a hamstring injury. Dr. Bradley C. Bley, DO, from Delaware Sports Medicine joined the 94WIP Morning Show on Monday to discuss all three starting with Blankenship, who has now suffered multiple concussions this year, which has to be a concern for his long-term health.
Eagles win over Ravens top-three win this decade
The Eagles erased a 9-0 deficit and won their eighth straight game with a 24-19 win over the Ravens in Baltimore, taking down a Baltimore team that many expect to contend for a Super Bowl berth. The Birds defense shut down Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson, while Saquon Barkley found the end zone again to get Philly to 10 wins on the season, a victory that Joe DeCamara said is the best win for the team this decade. "It really was thrilling. It was a phenomenal victory," Joe said.
Cataldi tells Morning Show that Eagles have Super Bowl roster, but Nick Sirianni isn't good enough
Angelo Cataldi joined the WIP Morning Show on Thursday to talk all things Philly sports, and he started with the Eagles and Nick Sirianni, who he couldn't believe ESP gave an A- grade after last weekend's win over the Jaguars. "Do they have drug testing there at WIP?" Angelo said.
Jon Ritchie takes exception to Eagles quiet trade deadline
The Eagles were quiet at the trade deadline, and Jon Ritchie took issue with the team's inactivity. With Philly just a half game out in the NFC East standings, Jon wanted to see some aggression from Howie Roseman after last year's disaster, especially after a Commanders team that they are trailing in the standings bolstered their biggest area of need by acquiring Pro Bowl cornerback Marshon Lattimore.
Orthopedic surgeon on Week 4 heat and Lane Johnson's concussion
Dr. Mark Schwartz, M.D. is an orthopedic surgeon with Burlington County Orthopedic Specialist in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. Dr. Schwartz joined Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie on Monday's 94WIP Morning Show to recap the Eagles' Week 4 loss to the Bucs in the immense heat and Lane Johnson's recovery from a concussion. Dr. Schwartz specializes in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery and is the Co-Director of Virtua Health Sports Medicine Program.
Lack of trust in Nick Sirianni doesn't take away from Eagles excitement
WIP Morning Show turned its attention to football on Friday with the calendar turning to August, and despite how painful last season ended for Eagles fans, Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie both agree that their excitement levels are rising for the upcoming season. "No 11-6 season ever felt worse...no playoff season ever felt worse at the end," Joe said. "Offseason, there were some exciting elements, like Saquon, but the way it ended lingered, the Jalen stuff in the offseason lingered.
Phillies have reached point where anything other World Series title would be 'a shame'
The Phillies continue to pass every test in 2024, having just swept the mighty Dodgers with another victory on Thursday night. As the summer continues to be an enjoyable one in Philadelphia, Joe DeCamara says the joy and excitement around the team also has the consequence of meaning anything short of a title would be seen as a disappointment. "They're playing at a clip right now that is just unbelievable...It's a sight to behold these days," Joe said.
Does Kyle Lowry signing get a thumbs up, and will he finish his career with 76ers?
The 76ers are re-signing Kyle Lowry to a one-year deal, bringing the 38-year-old back to Philly after he was brought in via trade with the Heat last season. Lowry was a reliable veteran bench presence for the Sixers last season, and ultimately, the WIP Mornings crew universally gave the deal a thumbs up. "I like it," Joe DeCamara said. "The 38-year-old is a thing, because you're trying to play into June, and there isn't a lot of history of 38-year-olds being good enough in June.
'Four weeks is optimistic'
Dr. Mark Schwartz, M.D. is an orthopedic surgeon with Burlington County Orthopedic Specialist in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. Dr. Schwartz joined Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie on Thursday's 94WIP Morning Show to discuss the torn meniscus tear to Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto. "I think a four week down time is optimistic, I really do," Dr. Schwartz said. "I think it's an extremely optimistic outlook for a catcher. If he was a different position, I think four weeks would be reasonable and hopeful.
Jon Ritchie still annoyed that Eagles kept Nick Sirianni as head coach
Jon Ritchie and Joe DeCamara are at odds over whether or not Jalen Hurts' now infamous Nick Sirianni comments were a big deal or not, with Jon not sweating it too much. For Jon, the bigger deal is the fact that Sirianni is still the head coach in the first place. "This situation is crazy. You kept a guy around, even when you knew you shouldn't," Jon said. "I believe other coaches can do what he did with the same setup around him. I don't have that much faith.
Morning Show loves 'old school' Phillies rotation sporting 'refreshing' throwback feel
The Phillies starting rotation, outside of Taijuan Walker, has been nothing short of fantastic in 2024, as the top four arms in the rotation don't have an ERA above 2.77.
'Acted like a baby last week'
The Morning Show continued its discussion about Jalen Hurts' eye-opening comments (or lack thereof) from last week when asked how Nick Sirianni has changed as a head coach, and Joe DeCamara did not diminish the impact he believes those remarks from the starting quarterback could have on the team. "What a pathetic and disgraceful way to answer a question," DeCamara said.
Cole Hamels talks Phillies with WIP Mornings live from London
Phillies great Cole Hamels joined the Morning Show live from London on Friday to talk all things Phils ahead of the London Series against the Mets this weekend. The 2008 World Series MVP talked about this current Phillies team, the "generational talent" in Bryce Harper, and the current starting rotation in comparison to the stellar staffs that Hamels was a part of during his playing days. Listen to the clip above to hear the full interview with Hamels live from Passyunk Avenue.
'Disastrous, disrespectful' Jalen Hurts comments show 'disconnect' with Nick Sirianni
Jalen Hurts didn't give much of an answer when asked about Nick Sirianni's openness to change his coaching style, and gave nothing further when asked a follow-up about any changes that he's seen in his head coach this offseason. Joe DeCamara thought it was a "softball" question that could have easily been answered, but Hurts seemingly chose not to throw his coach a bone. "Just a disastrous answer. That's a disastrous answer," Joe said.
WIP Mornings reacts to Lakers potentially pivoting from JJ Reddick to Dan Hurley
ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski broke some major news on Thursday morning, revealing that the Lakers are preparing a massive contract offer to UConn's Dan Hurley to be their next head coach. It had been previously reported that former 76ers sharpshooter JJ Reddick was being heavily considered for the job, but based on Wojnarowski's report, LA has a strong desire to lure Hurley away from Storrs instead.
Aaron Nola joins WIP Mornings, raves about Phillies clubhouse atmosphere
Aaron Nola joined the Morning Show on Friday, on the heels of his complete game shutout, and praised the feel in the clubhouse as the Phillies have run out to the best record in baseball. "It's been a fun year so far. It really has been," Nola said. "We feel like we're closer than we were last year as a group. That helps a lot." There were only a few minor tweaks to the roster from the 2023 group, and Nola says that has helped the team come closer together.
Morning Show predicts 14-3 record for Eagles this season
The Morning Show crew went through the entire Eagles schedule on Friday morning, each member predicting a game until the schedule was complete. And it was a bullish take on how the Birds will do this season. When it was all said and done, the group had the Eagles at 14-3 on the season, only losing in Dallas and against the Saints and Ravens. Other than that, the group expects Philly to roll, especially against some of their division rivals.
'I don't think it's over'
The 76ers will head to a hostile Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night, fighting for their playoff lives as they look to start the climb out of a 3-1 series hole. Joe DeCamara knows it will be a steep uphill climb, but he believes this Sixers team is more than capable of pulling off such a comeback. "Obviously the odds are stacked against them...two of the final three games will be in New York, and that will be a brutal environment," Joe said.
Will fans want Joel Embiid traded if Knicks finish off Sixers?
With the Sixers on the brink of elimination, Joe DeCamara wondered what percentage of fans would be ready to trade Joel Embiid if the Knicks finish off Philly in game five on Tuesday night in New York. "What percentage would say that it's time to trade Joel Embiid?" Joe asked, before adding that he would not be in the camp that voted in favor of trading the reigning MVP.
Ritchie has no faith in Nick Sirianni picking Eagles next coordinators
The Eagles and Nick Sirianni will reportedly go over potential options for their offensive and defensive coordinators for next season, though that doesn't guarantee ownership will decide to keep Sirianni. Jon Ritchie gets no comfort from the idea of Sirianni picking new coordinators. "His offensive coordinators were really good in Jonathan Gannon and Shane Steichen, and they got poached after a season and a half," Ritchie said. "We discovered he couldn't account for that.
Seltzer breaks down why he is coming around on Nick Sirianni staying with Eagles
Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie would like to see the Eagles move on from Nick Sirianni after the Eagles' miserable collapse was completed last weekend, but James Seltzer says he is coming back around to the idea that keeping Sirianni is the right move. Hearing players start to vocalize their support for their head coach only enhances that belief. "Jalen [Hurts] did, and Fletcher Cox did, and Jason Kelce did," Seltzer said.
Ritchie believes in 'smart' Eagles to do what's best and fire Nick Sirianni
As we still wait to hear news about a meeting between Nick Sirianni and the Eagles front office to decide the head coach's future, Joe DeCamara doesn't believe that the delay in the meeting happening means that Sirianni is likelier to stay in Philadelphia. "The delay does not cause me to be convinced that he will be retained," Joe said. Jon Ritchie was even more adamant that the meeting not happening yet doesn't mean that Sirianni is staying.
Nick Sirianni talks Eagles 'dog mentality' with Morning Show
Nick Sirianni joined The Morning Show on Wednesday, and talked about the "dog mentality" that his Eagles possess, which was very apparent in Monday's win over the defending champion Chiefs. "'Dog mentality' is truly being in the mindset of 'what do I do next? What is the next move?'" Sirianni said. "Don't worry about a bad play or a bad call you made in the past, or a good call you made in the past. Be completely locked in to that moment.
Aaron Nola talks with Morning Show about taking less to stay with Phillies
Aaron Nola joined The Morning Show on Wednesday, and he made it clear that finding a place that felt like home was more important that the dollar amount when it came to his next contract, and he had already felt at home in Philadelphia. Amid reports that he took less money to stay with the Phillies, Aaron told Joe and Jon that comfort was paramount, and there was no better place than the one he has called home for his entire big league career.
Jason Kelce details 'weird' postgame interaction with Travis after Eagles win
Jason Kelce joined The Morning Show on Wednesday, and admitted that it was an adjustment after Monday's win when he tried to meet his brother Travis at midfield. Travis and Jason were swarmed by cameras, as interest in their relationship has skyrocketed since Travis' relationship with pop star Taylor Swift has become a massive story. "I was looking for him, and there were so many people around me that I couldn't even find him," Jason said.
Eagles running off six straight wins is suddenly very real
Joe DeCamara is doing a 180 on his previous take that the Eagles going 6-0 over a six-game stretch was "impossible," as he now says it is a very real possibility. "6-0 in these six games is now starting to come into focus," Joe said. "There is a legitimate chance that the Eagles might go 6-0. They have a really real, good shot to go 6-0 the rest of the way. "The word I used was the 'I' word, 'impossible.' That's correct, and I really believed that.
Eagles are now undisputed 'best team in the world' after beating Chiefs
Back in studio on Tuesday morning, after wondering why all of his fellow hosts seemed to be picking the Chiefs to beat the Eagles on Monday, Jon Ritchie declared that Philly now holds the best team on the planet. "They're the better team," Jon said in his instant reaction to the Eagles beating the Chiefs in Kansas City on Monday night. "The Eagles are the best team in the world, and we got to see it play out last night. "The Chiefs got to watch the Eagles pass them by.
Joe DeCamara thanks Andy Reid for 'gift' of costly punt to set up Eagles win
With the Chiefs leading the Eagles by a field goal in the fourth quarter, Andy Reid made the puzzling decision to punt from the Birds' 39-yard line on 4th-and-4, a decision that was immediately questioned by several fans and analysts on social media that were watching along. Joe DeCamara was one of them, and could only thank the former Eagles head coach for the "gift" that set up the eventual game-winning touchdown drive. "Andy Reid messed up punting the ball," Joe said.
Eagles win franchise's most 'impressive' regular season game in decades
Joe DeCamara was all kinds of pumped up opening Tuesday's show, having just watched what he believes to be one of the most "impressive" Eagles victories he has seen in a very long time. "My God did they dig down, hang in there, freakin' fight, and in the end, win," Joe said. "One of the more impressive regular season wins we've seen from the Eagles - and I mean this - in decades.
'It's less than I expected'
The Phillies officially announced Aaron Nola's seven-year, $172 million deal, and it is a price that Joe DeCamara is fine with paying to keep Nola with the only organization he has ever known. "It's less than I expected," Joe said. "Not the $172 million, but the price per year.
'Something about this NFL season has bored the heck out of me'
While the Eagles are gearing up for one of the biggest games of the NFL season on Monday night, Joe DeCamara has not been enthralled with the NFL campaign as a whole, especially after watching Sunday's slate. "Something about this NFL season has bored the heck out of me," Joe said. "Yes, some games ended up being close.
Jon Ritchie and Merrill Reese are both JUICED for Eagles-Chiefs Monday night
Jon Ritchie was so juiced about Monday night that a few hours after his own show ended, he joined Joe Giglio & Hugh Douglas to talk about the game - and so did Merrill Reese, and the big question was, of course, if the game means more because it's against Andy Reid?
Fran Dunphy & Phil Martelli promote the 2024 Coaches vs. Cancer BasketBall
Talk about Philly cred: Phil Martelli, Media's own, played college ball at Widener and cut his teeth at Bishop Kenrick before winning 444 games in 24 seasons at St. Joe's. Fran Dunphy followed a similar path from Delco to a local school (LaSalle) to the Catholic League ranks, then went on to win 580 games in 30 years at Penn and Temple before taking over at his alma mater last year.
Has Philly's year of heartbreak kept you from going all-in on the Birds?
Over the last 13 months, we've seen two Phillies runs end in heartbreak - one in the World Series, one in an NLCS they led 3-2 - and an Eagles Super Bowl loss, as well as another strong Sixers season fall short of even the NBA Final Four.
ESP, Dick Vermeil preview Eagles-Chiefs with Jon Ritchie & Joe DeCamara

Are the 76ers prepping for a 'pause year,' and is that acceptable?
As the 76ers continue into the summer with a relatively similar roster as last season (James Harden move pending), is Philly entering a "pause year," where the franchise waits things out until they are able to make bigger moves in the years to come? For a franchise that went through The Process, boasts the NBA MVP, and is a consistent playoff team, is a "pause year" an acceptable course of action at this time? Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie debated to open up The Morning Show on Tuesday.
Zack Wheeler is one of the most underrated free agents signings in Philly history
While many fans called in to The Morning Show to vent about the continued ups and downs of Aaron Nola on Monday, Joe DeCamara sprinkled in some positivity with the Phillies rotation by singing the praises of Zack Wheeler. "Zack Wheeler has significantly outplayed his contract," Joe said. "Zack Wheeler is one of the most underrated free agent additions in the history of Philadelphia sports.
Eagles can 'absolutely' be better than last year's team
The Morning Show crew posed the question to fans whether or not the Eagles could be better than last year's dominant group, and within the studio, the opinion was split. For Joe DeCamara, it's hard to imagine a team being able to improve upon a 14-win season and a Super Bowl appearance. "Fundamentally, it almost seems weird to say the can improve from 14-3," Joe said.
