Large language models (LLMs) provide limited support for sign language interaction. Unifying sign language translation (SLT) and generation (SLG) to enable sign language as both input and output can reduce switching between separate models during sign-text interaction. We present SignGPT, a unified, pose-based framework for gloss-free SLT and SLG.
PIEZO1 impairs antioxidant capacity and drives ferroptosis via dual regulation of GPX4 in degenerative disc cells
Abstract Intervertebral disc degeneration (IVDD) constitutes the leading cause of chronic low back pain. Oxidative stress and ferroptosis act as critical pathological drivers of IVDD progression. Nevertheless, the cellular heterogeneity of nucleus pulposus cells (NPCs), endogenous repair homeostasis, and the regulatory network linking mechanical signals to ferroptosis remain poorly defined.

Inhibiting the formation of neutrophil extracellular traps to prevent the recurrence of post-operative glioblastoma - Nature Communications
Abstract Glioblastoma (GBM) is a highly malignant tumor with a high postoperative recurrence rate. It is crucial to develop innovative and effective approaches to prevent its recurrence. Herein, we focus on the important roles of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) in the progression of GBM in mice and patients. Neutrophils accumulate around the surgical cavity and release NETs to promote the proliferation and migration of postoperative residual GBM cells.

532/1176 nm all-crystal laser for dual-contrast photoacoustic imaging of blood and lipids
Photoacoustic microscopy (PAM) is a label-free and noninvasive imaging tool for monitoring blood vessels and lipids in vivo. However, simultaneously imaging both indicators has been challenging with a single laser source. Here, we report a compact all-crystal passively Q-switched solid-state laser that simultaneously generates 532 nm and ~1.2 μm wavelengths for blood and lipid contrasts in PAM.
Analytic phase retrieval method via regional Fourier spectrum superposition
An analytic phase retrieval method via regional Fourier spectrum superposition was proposed. By dividing the specimen to different regions, the phase difference of the specimen can be calculated directly by using the intensity image and its Fourier intensity image. Interestingly, the proposed method regards the phase retrieval problem as an interference problem and establishes a corresponding linear mathematical model.

Controllable dual-pulse laser directly for nonlinear photoacoustic microscopy
Nonlinear photoacoustic microscopy (PAM) usually requires dual-pulse excitation. Current approaches to realize dual-pulse laser train are indirect, mainly based on beam combinations. Here, we report a compact (∼5-cm-long cavity) laser source that directly outputs controllable nanosecond (∼34 ns) dual pulses, including the tunability of repetition rate (0–20 kHz), time delay (5–30 µs), and relative intensity ratio (20–500%), perfectly matching the requirements of nonlinear imaging in PAM.
Enhancing acetaminophen removal through persulfate activation with ZnCl2-SPI biochar: A study on reactive oxygen species contribution according to acetaminophen concentration
In recent years, the production and consumption of pharmaceutical and personal care products (PPCPs) have steadily increased. In addition, conventional wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) often fail to effectively remove PPCPs, leading to their discharge into water bodies [1], [2]. Acetaminophen (ACP), a PPCP, is one of the most widely used drugs as a painkiller and has been detected in sewers, sewage plants, and even drinking water due to its widespread usage [3].
