What was your first job as a journalist?

Newspaper reporter in Wilkes-Barre, PA ... at the time, one of the few remaining cities in the country with fiercely competing dailies.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes, when I learned to type. The clacking of keys is still a soothing sound to me.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

Email. Please oh please don't call.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Whenever you've got a great idea.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

On a yoga mat, on a hiking trail, on assignment or peering absentmindedly into the fridge.
