Neoadjuvant tislelizumab (anti-PD-1 antibody) plus chemotherapy in patients with advanced epithelial ovarian cancer: the exploratory NAIVE trial
Abstract The clinical efficacy and immune modulation of neoadjuvant immunochemotherapy for epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) remain uncertain. To clarify these effects, the NAIVE trial (NCT04815408), a prospective phase II study, evaluated the efficacy of neoadjuvant platinum-based chemotherapy with tislelizumab (NACI) in comparison with chemotherapy alone (NAC) in patients with FIGO IIIC–IV EOC.
Enhanced invasiveness promotes the dominance of a widely-distributed carbapenem-resistant virulence-plasmid-carrying Klebsiella pneumoniae sublineage
Abstract Carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (CRKP), a WHO’s critical priority pathogen, continuously evolves to generate health-threatening high-risk (sub)lineages. Here, we conducted a 10-year surveillance of nosocomial CRKP infections, collecting and whole-genome sequencing 1513 clinical isolates, accompanied by clinical data. We applied fine-scale genome analysis for 60,724 non-local public-available K. pneumoniae genomes.
Climate-induced range shifts support local plant diversity but don’t reduce extinction risk
Editor’s summary Climate change and other massive global changes are increasing the risk of extinction for many species. Two papers in this issue address the extent of extinction risk to plants. Wang et al. used species distribution models to predict range shifts in response to climate change for more than 60,000 plant species. They found that 7 to 16% of these species will be at high extinction risk by 2100 across emissions scenarios. Forest et al.
Development and validation of a nomogram prediction model for oral frailty in community-dwelling older adults
Abstract Objective: This study aims to investigate the factors influencing oral frailty among community-dwelling older adults and to develop and validate a risk prediction model. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted between October 2023 and November 2024, enrolling community-dwelling older adults from Zigong City, Sichuan Province, China. Participants were randomly allocated into a training set (n = 271) and a validation set (n = 117) in a 7:3 ratio.
Chronic osteomyelitis diagnosis using MRI: optimising radiomics models through multi-level region of interest extensions
Abstract Purpose: Chronic osteomyelitis is a persistent infectious bone disease characterised by high recurrence, in which surgical debridement plays a crucial role. Conventional debridement mainly depends on surgeons’ clinical experience and visual interpretation of imaging findings, which are inherently subjective and may not accurately define the boundary between infected and healthy tissue.
Repurposing long-term ecological studies for climate change | Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences
Ecologists have long known that static systems can be complex, with population, community, and ecosystem processes interacting across timescales in a spatially heterogeneous environment. Understanding the direct and indirect consequences of climate change is even more daunting, given its dynamic nature, wherein multiple time-variant physical factors influence biological processes across a broad range of temporal and spatial scales.

Evaluating Riparian Vegetation Roughness Computation Methods Integrated within HEC-RAS
Downloaded 0 times Technical Papers Abstract Determining the roughness of riparian vegetation is often a challenge in river hydraulic modeling. A large number of quantitative methods have been developed, but none of them have been integrated into any one-dimensional (1D) hydraulic model for directly computing dynamic vegetation roughness.
Gamma-glutamyltransferase and risk of cardiovascular mortality: A dose-response meta-analysis of prospective cohort studies
Nine prospective studies, including 527,589 participants and more than 7,011 cases, were included in this meta-analysis. For the moderate, high, and highest levels of GGT, the pooled HRs of CV mortality were 1.11 (95% CI = 1.04–1.19), 1.29 (95% CI = 1.21–1.38) and 1.59 (95% CI = 1.47–1.72), respectively (all p < 0.05 as compared to the lowest levels of GGT). Additionally, the HR per incremental increase of GGT by 10 U/L was 1.10 (95% CI = 1.08–1.11).
