PAHRUMP (KTNV) — School leaders with the Nye County School District have posted a third budget proposal after potential cuts to social workers in previous proposals led to public outcry and trustees rejecting them. Dozens of people showed up to last week's board meeting and sent in letters opposing the proposed cuts.

Mater Academy East graduates celebrate milestones, carry family legacies across the finish lines

HENDERSON (KTNV) — As graduation season wraps up across Clark County, dozens of students at one east valley high school have extra reasons to celebrate. The principal of Mater Academy East says nearly 250 students graduated with about 4,600 college credits. More than 50 of them will essentially start college as juniors after earning their associate degree through rigorous studies.

Nye County School District under pressure to pass a budget after backlash against two proposals

PAHRUMP (KTNV) — The Nye County School District is on the clock to approve a budget after public outcry led trustees to reject two budget proposals and schedule another meeting. Dozens of community members showed up in Pahrump and sent in letters to voice their concerns at last night's school board meeting. The budget proposals included cutting a number of positions for the next school year.
