LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - The Ropes Eagles are this week’s Extra Innings Team of the Week after defeating Gruver 2-0 & 4-3 to clinch the 2A Division II Regional Championship. The Eagles used a couple of great pitching performances to knock off Gruver in the Regional Finals and have now now made it two rounds further than they went last season. Under first year head coach Nathan Flores, the team has won nine games in a row.

SUNDOWN, Texas (KCBD) - The Sundown Roughettes are this week’s Extra Innings Team of the Week after defeating Haskell 3-2 off of a walk-off by Nayleen Morin to clinch a spot in the Regional Championship. Sundown boasts a record of 27-3, and have not lost a game since February 17th against Midland Christian. Sundown is looking to win their second state championship in a row after they defeated Shiner, 9-3 last season to win a state title for the first time in school history.
