Oral and upper gastrointestinal Crohn’s disease: new perspectives on pathogenesis and clinical management
Abstract Crohn’s disease is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease that is closely associated with genetic factors, immune dysregulation and microbial imbalance. Lesions involving the oral cavity and upper gastrointestinal tract constitute a common yet clinically overlooked manifestation of this disease. This article reviews the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying disease onset and progression, and evaluates the diagnostic performance of various noninvasive and serum biomarkers.

Polystyrene nanoplastics and benzo(a)pyrene synergistically induce lung fibrosis and inflammation via relaxin signalling in mice
Abstract Micro- and nanoplastics (MNPs) are emerging pollutants that can carry harmful substances like benzo(a)pyrene, posing potential health risks. While the harmful effects of nanoplastics on the lungs are known, how they interact with benzo(a)pyrene to affect cellular communication remains unclear. In our study, We explore this interplay using a 16-week mouse model exposed to environmentally relevant doses of polystyrene nanoplastics, benzo(a)pyrene, or a combination of both.
Deep learning-driven community resilience rating based on intertwined socio-technical systems features - npj Urban Sustainability
Abstract Community resilience is a complex, multi-dimensional phenomenon that emerges from nonlinear interactions among diverse features within socio-technical systems. However, most existing assessment methods rely on index-based approaches that inadequately capture the heterogeneity of these systems and their dynamic interdependencies in shaping key resilience components, namely robustness, redundancy, and resourcefulness.

Effects of Climate Change on the Estimation of Extreme Sea Levels in the Ayeyarwady Sea of Myanmar by Monte Carlo
1. Introduction Storm surge caused by tropical cyclones is among the most destructive ocean disasters [1,2]. Several coastal countries, including Myanmar, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, experience storm surge disasters annually [3]. Over the past two centuries, an estimated 2.6 million individuals have lost their lives in extreme surge events [4].

An Improved Tree Crown Delineation Method Based on a Gradient Feature-Driven Expansion Process Using Airborne LiDAR Data
5. Discussion 5.1. Superiority of the Proposed Method The method proposed in this study includes two stages. First, initial tree crown boundaries are obtained by MCWS, followed by the utilization of features such as DG and HV to emphasize the actual crown boundaries. These features then guide an expansion process, yielding more precise boundary results.

Exploring the Impacts of the Digital Economy on Carbon Emissions: Lessons from 268 Cities in China
1. Introduction Since the initiation of China’s reform and opening-up policies, its economy grew to become the second largest in the world and was accompanied by qualitative improvements in the living standards of its population. However, escalating carbon emissions resulting from continuous industrialization created climate and environmental challenges that are not conducive to sustained economic and social development.

Targeting of netrin-1 by monoclonal antibody NP137 inhibits the EMT in cancer
Immunotherapy Netrin-1 is highly expressed in many cancers, such as endometrial cancer and lung cancer. Recently, Cassier et al from Université de Lyon1 and Lengrand and her colleagues from Université Libre de Bruxelles2 both reported that the therapeutic monoclonal netrin-1 antibody NP137 can inhibit the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and cancer progression, and these results were published online in Nature side by side.

Intracellular polyamines regulate redox homeostasis with cAMP-PKA signalling during sexual mating/filamentation and pathogenicity of Sporisorium scitamineum - Yin - Molecular Plant Pathology - Wiley Online Library
1 INTRODUCTION Sugarcane smut is one of the main fungal diseases that seriously reduce sugarcane production. The causal pathogen, Sporisorium scitamineum, is a typical dimorphic fungus. Its life cycle has three stages, namely, the haploid sporidium stage, the dikaryotic hypha stage, and the diploid teliospore stage (Piepenbring et al., 2002). Haploid yeast-type sporidia are unable to infect the host and are of two opposite mating types, MAT-1 and MAT-2.

A Robust Droplet Triboelectric Nanogenerator with Self-Cleaning Ability Achieved by Femtosecond Laser
A droplet triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) has great potential for harvesting the high entropy energy in water. Despite extensive research, it still suffers from low average power density, poor long-term stability, and insufficient flexibility. Here, a porous micronanostructured polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) with superhydrophobicity and self-cleaning ability, is generated by femtosecond laser direct processing.

A Novel Prognostic Prediction Model Based on Pyroptosis-Related Clusters for Breast Cancer
Abstract : Breast cancer (BC) is the most common cancer affecting women and the leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Compelling evidence indicates that pyroptosis is inextricably involved in the development of cancer and may activate tumor-specific immunity and/or enhance the effectiveness of existing therapies. We constructed a novel prognostic prediction model for BC, based on pyroptosis-related clusters, according to RNA-seq and clinical data downloaded from TCGA.
