I am presently the Vice President of People & Culture at an environmental organization.

Formerly I was an independent journalist focusing on stories that gear toward social change. My last journalist work was as a multimedia reporter for Al Día, the Spanish-language paper of the Dallas Morning News for three years. Prior to working at Al Día, I was a staff writer and social media manager for El Hispano News in Dallas and I also spent six years as business reporter; three of them as a Sunday co…

What was your first job as a journalist?

I was a business writer first. I went to a new business which turned out to be a Latino restaurant.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

A-S-D-F-J-K-L-; my fingers used to hurt after typing that for hours.

How is social media changing news?

I feel social media is connecting more people. It allows us to be able to tell more stories and find people faster.
