"Kayla Hamilton is an emerging music journalist with a bent for looking at things through an unorthodox lens" was how a mentor recently introduced me. That description encapsulates me perfectly.

Though, I am not to be put into a box. Music journalism is my passion, but I am always up to lend my skills across various topics and industries.

Writing and broadcasting are where my heart lies, as well as research. Ultimately, my goal is to find and share the stories of art and interest.

Last month was a massive for releases, so here are our top five picks to show that the naysayers are just looking in the wrong place for great Aussie tunes: Melting – A Pathetic Excuse for a Life One of the most furious bands in the Australian heavy music scene, Melting have followed last year’s breakout run with an even more vicious second release. Six tracks clocking in at just under 15 minutes, the full EP is a whirlwind of raw energy, explosive riffs and absolute carnage.
