In a joint program between Argentina’s Undersecretary of Science and Technology and Minister of Defense, Argentina is home to the most powerful supercomputer in Latin America available to academic research—for both traditional computation and research powered by artificial intelligence (AI). Now operating at 15.7 petaFLOPS, the supercomputer is named Clementina XXI and is managed by the data center for the Servicio Meteorológico Nacional (SMN) (national weather service) in Buenos Aires.
