(KGUN) — Tucson has the highest percentage of family-owned businesses of any metro area in the country, according to a recent report from OnDeck, which analyzed U.S. Census Bureau data on business ownership nationwide. The report found 34% of businesses in the Tucson metro area are family-owned, putting the city at No. 1 in the nation, well above the national average of roughly 27%.

Now, the state has pulled the plug on the funding that made it possible. State lawmakers eliminated the Community College Adult Education Workforce Program, cutting $1.5 million from PCC's Adult Basic Education for College and Career program.

ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (KGUN) — Oro Valley is bracing for a potential cut to its Colorado River water supply, but the official in charge of keeping the town's taps running says residents shouldn't panic. Water Utility Director Peter Abraham said the town has been informally told to prepare for an approximately 20% reduction in its Central Arizona Project allocation — the canal system that delivers Colorado River water across the state — beginning in January 2027.
