VIERA — When you’re craving comfort food, chicken and dumplings is hard to beat. That’s what led me to the Soup Shop where I’ve visited more than once and my experience has been a bit of a mixed bag. The star of the show is the chicken and dumpling soup. The flavor is rich and comforting without being overly salty. It tastes homemade, which prompted me to ask an employee if the soups are made on site.

Apartment hunting like a detective

BREVARD COUNTY — When I was younger, apartment hunting was pretty simple. Did it fit my budget? Did it have a decent floor plan? Was there enough room for my stuff? These days, I have turned apartment hunting into something that resembles a private investigation and honestly, I think more people should follow suit. As I’ve gotten older, my priorities have changed. My needs have changed. What creates a peaceful home for me today is very different from what mattered 10 or 20 years ago.

Social media is changing news in both good and bad ways. It helps stories reach people faster and gives journalists new ways to connect with readers. But it also spreads misinformation quickly, so it’s a constant balance.
