PALM BAY — If you’ve ever looked at a Highland cow and thought, “I need to hug that giant fuzzy creature,” then Cow Day at Harris Establishment Farms in Palm Bay might be your dream come true. I visited Harris Establishment Farms earlier this year, but this visit was completely different. This time, I got to do something I’ve secretly wanted to do ever since I first laid eyes on those shaggy-haired cows — I got to cuddle Rusty. Rusty is a miniature Highland cow who will turn three in September.

VIERA — When you’re craving comfort food, chicken and dumplings is hard to beat. That’s what led me to the Soup Shop where I’ve visited more than once and my experience has been a bit of a mixed bag. The star of the show is the chicken and dumpling soup. The flavor is rich and comforting without being overly salty. It tastes homemade, which prompted me to ask an employee if the soups are made on site.
