Mythbusters: Myths in Trades
Take a closer look at the myths that might be keeping you from a career in the trades. The average age for more trade workers, also known as blue-collar workers, is 47. That relatively high age, along with a growing need for people who know how to build things, care for others and just plain fix things means there are plenty of job openings in many fields–carpentry, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, welding, computer programming and even health care. But is a trade job something to consider?

The Mill opened a second location in Concord in January 2020 with 30% occupancy and a pandemic around the corner, but managed to fill the space to 90% by last summer.
Chestnut Run Innovation & Science Park
The next big thing in innovation. There’s a stretch of Route 141 that was once known as “DuPont Row.” It runs past several sites the chemical giant has at sometime occupied — Experimental Station, Hagley Mills, Barley Mill Plaza and Chestnut Run — and has undergone an almost complete restructuring in recent years. None will be more dramatic than the transformation of Chestnut Run, which was acquired from DuPont in late 2022 by the MRA Group of Horsham, PA.

How to Succeed in the World of Work
Whether you’re applying for an apprenticeship, an internship, a job or a work-based learning program, there are certain skills that employers — in any industry — will expect you to have. Those skills are things like being on time, working well with others, being reliable and responsible for completing your tasks. They’re generally known as“soft skills” — as opposed to the “hard skills” you need to do a specific job, such as operating a forklift or knowing HTML.
