Nearly four years after a pregnant woman was found shot to death in her Buchanan County home, the man accused of killing her is scheduled to go on trial next week in Russell County. Dustin Owens is accused of killing his girlfriend, Amber Compton, in October 2022. Owens and Compton both worked at Keen Mountain Correctional Center. Compton was seven months pregnant when she was found shot to death inside her Buchanan County home.

Body found after house fire in Greene County

GREENE COUNTY, Tenn--Investigators are working to determine what caused a deadly house fire that left one person dead on West Pines Road. Greene County 911 received a call just after 6 p.m. on July 20th reporting a structure fire at a home on West Pines Road. The call was dispatched as a “house on fire,” with flames and smoke visible. A few minutes later, dispatchers advised the house was fully engulfed in flames.
